What is causing my acne to still flair up 4 months after a d and c, and if its hormonal will it stop ovulation?

What is causing my acne to still flair up 4 months after a d and c, and if its hormonal will it stop ovulation?

Acne and D&C: A D&C is stripping out the lining of the uterus--it doesn't stop hormone production. That is usually done by the ovaries and to a lesser extent the adrenals. You may indeed be experiencing hormonal acne and the hormones can affect ovulation. Often the androgen hormones (think testosterone) contribute to breakouts-sometimes an oral medicine called spironolactone can be helpful to block acne. ...Read more

Had D and C for Blitum Ovum 5 weeks ago today. My hormone levels were 5000 at the time. Did preg test today with positive dark lines. Pregnant again?

Had D and C for Blitum Ovum 5 weeks ago today. My hormone levels were 5000 at the time. Did preg test today with positive dark lines. Pregnant again?

Most likely not.: If your D and C was uncomplicated and the pathology report after your surgery confirmed the miscarriage the most likely reason is that all the pregnancy hormone has not cleared your system. Can always have a follow up beta level to see if decreasing. Should be. If level is higher then need a sonogram right away. If zero then your preg test was wrong. If lower than can recheck until goes to zero. ...Read more

Why didn't my endometrial adenocarcinoma show up on an ultrasound and just after d and c?

Why didn't my endometrial adenocarcinoma show up on an ultrasound and just after d and c?

A good question: For your gynecologist. Ultrasound is an appropriate test for endometrial adenocarcinoma but it will miss small tumors. A D&C may be done for therapeutic purposes, but is good for detecting adenocarcinoma if the sample is examined by a pathologist. Even so, a D&C may miss tumors because it is a blind procedure; or depending on the size and location of the tumor. ...Read more
