What is causing my acne to still flair up 4 months after a d and c, and if its hormonal will it stop ovulation?
Acne and D&C: A D&C is stripping out the lining of the uterus--it doesn't stop hormone production. That is usually done by the ovaries and to a lesser extent the adrenals. You may indeed be experiencing hormonal acne and the hormones can affect ovulation. Had D and C for Blitum Ovum 5 weeks ago today. My hormone levels were 5000 at the time. Did preg test today with positive dark lines. Pregnant again?
Most likely not.: If your D and C was uncomplicated and the pathology report after your surgery confirmed the miscarriage the most likely reason is that all the pregnancy hormone has not cleared your system. Can always have a follow up beta level to see if decreasing. Should be. If level is higher then need a sonogram right away. If zero then your preg test was wrong. A good question: For your gynecologist. Ultrasound is an appropriate test for endometrial adenocarcinoma but it will miss small tumors. A D&C may be done for therapeutic purposes, but is good for detecting adenocarcinoma if the sample is examined by a pathologist.
