Why are topical anesthetic for hood piercing "unethical"?

Why are topical anesthetic for hood piercing "unethical"?

Hmmm...: If someone desires a hood piercing and elects to have some sort of topical anesthesia then i don't believe it is unethical. Topical anesthesia can work, but in the case of a hood piercing (i assume clitoral hood?) it may not be as effective as injected anesthesia. If the person doing the piercing denies you adequate anesthesia then i would simply go elsewhere. A challenging question. ...Read more

Discuss this with your OB but early in the pregnancy there is no issue. ...Read more

I got a horizontal genital Hood piercing four months ago and it's not infected but one side still seems to seep a snotty substance near the whole, why?

Still healing: Slowly. Likely with a low grade infection. I would suggest taking the ring (or whatever else you have in there) out and reconsidering whether you really want to alter your body in a way that can give you pain and a long-lasting infection..... In any event, if this doesn't resolve after taking the foreign object out within a week or two, see your doctor. ...Read more

Can I put peroxide on my piercing ?

Can I put peroxide on my piercing ?

My input is a little: different from that which you have received from the other doctors. Sometimes straight Hydrogen Peroxide can cause tissue damage if used to clean new piercings. New piercings are usually cleaned twice a day. Do not twist jewelry / post. Saturate gauze w saline solution (pinch of sea salt in warm water), place on piercing & allow it to gently drip into the piercing. ...Read more
