Oatmeal: Why put anything in the oatmeal? It is a great food by itself. Complex carbs, fiber, some protein. The guar just adds extra fiber, and the juice is a sweetener. If you need a sweetener for taste, that is your choice, and it should not matter whether it is fruit juice, sugar, honey, etc. I would avoid artificial sweeteners in kids. No concerns for Canc: I would not be concerned about cancer related to sugar as long as it is eaten in moderation and your weight is in the healthy range. This question is only relevant if you are overweight in which case reduce the amount of sweetners that you use but do so slowly. ...Read more
