Microscopic hematuria and cysto, bloodwork and ultrasound were fine. Malb/cre ratio was 156. I know that is high. Next steps are?

Microalbumin High: Blood in the urine most commonly arises in the setting of bleeding within the urinary system. However, sometimes blood can be in the urine because the kidney isn't filtering as it should, allowing the blood cells into the urine. Since your microalb/creat ratio is elevated, that could be a sign that the kidneys are leaking protein (not filtering well). You should see a nephrologist for evaluation. ...Read more

Microhematuria: I can't give you chances, but I can tell you that one of the reasons for Microhematuria is bladder cancer. But infection is also a reason, stones in the urinary system are a reason (they may not be seen on ultrasound), and there are other reasons. So rather than worry yourself sick, eat a few of those great walnuts grown around there, and wait and see what is going on. ...Read more
