Loose stools is a symptom in which a person's stool (poop) does not hold its shape after it goes into the toilet. Instead of remaining a shaped piece of poop, the poop spreads out in the toilet bowl water. Very loose stool is called diarrhea. Loose stool can be caused by infections, certain foods or drinks, ...Read more
Gastroenteritis: It sounds like you may have gastroenteritis. You can take emetrol for the nausea and vomiting. It is best not to take anything to stop the diarrhea. These infections usually just last 24-48 hours. If it lasts longer than that, if you are not able to keep fluids down or if you have high fever you should see a doctor right away. The most important thing is staying well hydrated. ...Read more
Liquids/Brat/ Ginger: A simple way to reduce nausea & sometimes cramping is with ginger. You can drink slightly flattened ginger ale or nibble on crystallized ginger. Or pour boiling water over freshly sliced organic ginger & steep x 5 min in a covered pot. Sip. If stools are very liquidy you might need a clear liquid diet for a day or so before transitioning to brat diet. ...Read more

Horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea for 6 days. I still have cramps and stomach gurgles but no diarrhea. ?
Diarrhea: I cannot justify telling you to take anything and i would not endorse taking anything for diarrhea if there is the possibility for an infectious cause or medication induced. Pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) and loperamide are anti-diarrheal medications found over the counter. Maybe you should see your doctor for a stool exam 1st. ...Read more
Heartburn after having stomach flu, no vomiting only diarrhea, fever and aches. Tums (calcium carbonate) and organic vinager don't help. What would help the heartburn?
Try an H2 blocker: Some people develop heartburn after a stomach flu even without vomiting, because the stomach flu may have caused gastroesophageal reflux, and irritation to the esophagus. I suggest try famotidine 20mg twice a day or ranitidine 150mg twice a day, both are over the counter. In addition, avoid alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, large meals, and fatty meals. Also, Gaviscon tabs are a wonderful antacid. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Many good choices: My favorite home remedy for menstrual cramps is a hot bath with 2 cups of epsom salts; you can also add lavender oil. Also magnesium taurate or glycinate about 400 mg/day helps. Herbs like cramp bark and black cohosh can help too. For sore throats try gargling with 1 tsp cayenne pepper in 1 cup water 4x/day- you can also add apple cider vinegar, raw honey and garlic. See earthclinic.com for more. ...Read more
Please Don't "Flush": The only home remedy that i know of is a "gallbladder flush": ingesting substances to cause significant contraction of the gb with the hope that the stones could be flushed into the intestines. Unfortunately, this is actually dangerous since the stones can get stuck in the bile duct & block the liver. Furthermore, even if successful, new ones will form. The best rx remains surgery. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes: Yes you can take Imodium (loperamide) as it is considered safe in pregnancy. Some word of caution. Make sure you don't have an infection that caused your diarrhea, as anti diarrhea meds can make the infection worse. Also take with caution because in pregnancy you can easily go from diarrhea to constipation. I recommend you see your OB to diagnose the cause of diarrhea. ...Read more

May be hypothyroid: If you are (1) consuming plenty of fiber (a great high fiber cereal is uncle sam cereal), (2) drinking plenty of water, and (3) taking peristaltic stimulants like prunes (or drinking prune juice) and 500-1500 mg per day of magnesium, and are still constipated, i suggest checking your thyroid status. Hypothyroidism is a common but often overlooked cause of constipation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
