I keep getting these brown seed like things in my feces. quite small and look like seeds from a apple? is this ok?

Seeds: Review your diet? Have your been eating a lot of apples? If not then it needs evaluation. Seeds from apples contain a compound called amygdalin, a compound which releases toxic cyanide This only happens if the tough outer coat is broken or the seed is crushed, so avoid ingesting the seeds. If intact seeds are noted in the feces it is not likely to be a problem. ...Read more

Stool Color: Stool color is not important unless there is no color at all or it is bloody. Melena which is black sticky foul smelly stool signifies blood as well and is important. Otherwise green, brown, orange or shades thereof don't mean anything. ...Read more

Is it possible to pass sac-like objects on a stool that look like tapeworm eggs (golden, firm, etc.) but are not? If so, what are the possibilities?

Is it possible to pass sac-like objects on a stool that look like tapeworm eggs (golden, firm, etc.) but are not? If so, what are the possibilities?

Tapeworm unlikely: I'm pretty sure you're the same person who has asked several questions about tapeworm, cats, and things you have seen in your stool or your cat's feces. In the US, human tapeworm infestation is rare, and cat tapeworm is espcially unlikley to infect humans. But see your doctor if you remain concerned. A simple stool "ova and parasites" test will tell for sure whether or not you have it. ...Read more

What are some things that cause a lime green gel like substance in/on stool for an adult male notice when wiping

Green stools: This could result from rapid transit of feces through the intestines, or from food colorings such as in liquorice., consuming iron-rich foods or iron supplements, or leafy green vegetables, taking laxatives, and if with other intestinal symptoms it can result from irritable bowel or intestinal infections. If no symptoms, no worries. ...Read more

Tapeworms: The classic description of a tapeworm infection is small "sesame seeds" or "grains of rice" in the stool. It is usually due to the tapeworm found in dogs and cats, but it can sometimes be found in humans. What is seen is the proglottid or a segment of the worm. An analysis of a stool sample can determine the exact type and what caused it. Here is a handout: http://tinyurl.com/qzclwja ...Read more

I noticed that when I eat beets my feces has a red tint that sort of resembles blood. Are there other foods that cause that as well?

I noticed that when I eat beets my feces has a red tint that sort of resembles blood. Are there other foods that cause that as well?

Lots...: The color of stool varies with foods, speed of emptying of the GI tract, medications & supplements ingested, gut flora (unique for each individual), additives (like blood), subtractions (like absent bile), infection, inflammation, & other factors. Consider what you ate in the prior few days, but if a reddish color of your stool persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, see your doctor. ...Read more

If I do an apple cider vinegar enema and lots of white puffy mucussy looking stuff comes out, what is that? Is it biofilm or yeast or parasites?

If I do an apple cider vinegar enema and lots of white puffy mucussy looking stuff comes out, what is that? Is it biofilm or yeast or parasites?

That's normal: Forgive my frankness. You shouldn't do this to yourself. You're being played for a sucker by charlatans. You're seeing normal epithelial mucus coagulated by acid. If you buy into phony "yeast" or "biofilm" disinformation, you will never feel well again. If you're interested in "natural healing", find an evidence-based holistic practitioner in your community. But stop this stuff. ...Read more

Is this a alternative medicine fad? "Stool that sticks to toilet bowl can be a sign of malabsorption, disease, etc?"

Is this a alternative medicine fad? "Stool that sticks to toilet bowl can be a sign of malabsorption, disease, etc?"

This is not a sign!: Stool sticking to toilet bowl is not a sign of malabsorption. Watery stool is more often an indication of malabsortion of carbohydrates; excess gas often accompanies. In fat malabsorption the stool becomes more "oily". ...Read more

Had blood come out as if I'm on my menstrual but look like something came out my rectum . have a history of hemmrhoids. Is there any home remedies?,

Some: You can try preparation H or witch hazel for the hemorrhoids to soothe the pain. The biggest issue is constipation. If you have constipation you need to control this in order for the hemorroids to improve. I would take Benefiber or Metamucil daily as well as a stool softener like colace. If you need a laxative Sennokot is effective and safe. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is also a very effective treatment for it. ...Read more

Stools: These are probable undigested or partially digested food fragments. If you continue to have mucous and loose watery stools it would be a good idea to see a doctor and submit to a stool exam along with providing a full detailed history and an exam of yourself. This cannot be solved over the internet. Good luck. ...Read more
