Neuritis: It sound as though a proper digital nerve to the second toe may have been irritated due to the increased activity level. As long as the numbness is isolated to just that toe, you might consider giving it some more time to recover. To remove all doubt, have your foot evaluated by a specialist. ...Read more

Complex issues.: Symptoms which are unrelated to their size are ankle ankle swelling and discomfort/pain occasionally "restless" leg. Elevation and compression are conservative measures only. If very troublesome one needs definitive treatment. Personally i prefer ambulatory phlebotomy which I do in an office setting, local anesthesia without downtime. ...Read more

There are a few:: 1: wrist brace to keep the wrist from being flexed/extended. Initially used at night time. 2: steroid shots might be helpful, if the brace doesn't fully control symptoms, or in pregnancy, if severe. 3: when nothing helps ; the symptoms are severe enough to interfere in daily activities, then surgery is necessary to release the trapped nerve.
