Photofobia: The transmission of pain impulses from activated peripheral sensory nerves to second-order neurons in trigeminal brain stem nuclei and upper cervical cord may cause sensitization of second-order neurons. Not only can this intensify the pain, it may also increase sensitivity to convergent sensory stimuli such as light (photophobia). Maybe: Your eyes can be sensitive to light for a number of reasons. If the sensitivity is due to a condition that is irritating the cornea or iris, than treating those conditions will help the sensitivity. If your eyes are healthy, but just generally light sensitive, then decreasing the sensitivity by blocking some of the light with sunglasses or hats may help.
