My kids r on cetirizine can I give them Bromfed (brompheniramine) as well for cough and congestion?
Depends: There is no contraindication in receiving the two medications, but be careful that you know what you are treating. Bromfed (brompheniramine) should not be used in children with asthma or if there is a possibility of a lower respiratory tract infection and is not approved in children under the age of 5yrs. When in doubt see their pediatrician for evaluation and recommendations...it's much safer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Probably....: The cough may be due to bronchospasm so, if the cough is persisting, you should see your doctor for evaluation and treatment. You may need bronchodilator and possibly steroid inhalers. Other causes of a chronic cough include gerd and post-nasal drip, which have entirely different treatments so see your doctor for a persistent cough for diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more
