No: Humidified air will help if nose congested and runny. I would try and use distilled water, keep a distance away as per the gadgets instructions. Should be regularly cleaned. A tent aparatus made with towels or sheets over the head end of the crib with humidifier on the right height chair pointed under the tent will allow good humidity without being too close to baby. Not much...: Cough and cold medications are no longer available for children under the age of 4 yrs. Most were not very helpful anyways. For kids over 1 yr old, a spoonful of honey works well to quell the tickle in your throat effect of a cold. Hot steam, like sitting in a shower, can get snot to drain out and thus decrease coughing.
