My domestic worker's daughter is 14, she has painful, leaking sores on her breasts (nipples). Hospital treatment of cortisone not working. Help!

Needs exam...: It sounds like she needs to be examined again - could be that the sores have gotten secondarily affected and she needs antibiotics; however, that is impossible to say in a "virtual" format. A physician needs to examine her and come up with a new plan. ...Read more

My 87 year old aunt has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She's had it for over a year. However, she doesn't want treatment, are there home remedies for this?

Not really: I would not recommend home therapies. A lot depends on her health. If the tumor is advanced, surgery may be needed to prevent chest involvement or skin ulceration. If the tumor is small and not aggressive it may be possible that an agent like tamoxifen (estrogen receptor blocker) may give some local control without surgery. Consultation with a compassionate breast cancer specialist is in order. ...Read more

Breast specialist: You should see your primary care or gynecologist who can refer you to a breast specialist. This is not a problem that can be managed in the emergency room. Look up fibrocystic changes in some of my other posts, it will help prepare you for your doctors visit. ...Read more

I have had my tubes tied so not pg but this last month my breasts leaked clear fluid?

I have had my tubes tied so not pg but this last month my breasts leaked clear fluid?

Should investigate: This may be normal, or you may need to have your doctor evaluate it. It is not at all unusual to continue to have some fluid leak for up to a year after having a child. Sometimes you may have some fluid build up in the glands which then leaks out, which may be normal, or indicate a problem. Discuss this with your physician to see if other tests, like checking a prolactin level, are appropriate. ...Read more

Why is my breast leaking clear fluid from both sides?

Why is my breast leaking clear fluid from both sides?

Pituitary growth: There may be a very small pituitary growth that is secreting prolactin, a hormone that can cause inappropriate breast secretions. A MD visit and test for prolactin(blood) can make that determination. If you were recently pregnant in the past 6 months secretions can also occur if you have recently stopped breast feeding. ...Read more

My right breast is leaking a cloudy fluid. It is also considerably larger than my left breast, is this normal?

Yes and no: It's normal that one of your breast is bigger than the other but not if you notice a growth. Also if you are having some leakage and you arw sure you are not pregnant then it could be some medications, also a condition called galactorrhea which is an imbalance of hormones, or even contraceptive medications. Get checked if that continues! :). ...Read more

I have been having nauseam headaches and backaches for the last month. Now something new has come up my breasts are leaking a clear sticky fluid..HELP?

Galactorrhea: At age 50 pregnancy is usually not much of a concern, but I would check a pregnancy test. It could be a growth on your pituitary gland causing all of this. However, again at age 50 I would see your GYN for an evaluation of symptoms and to confirm your breast discharge is galactorrhea. Ductal cancer of the breast can cause clear or bloody nipple discharge. ...Read more
