Heavy Creams: Look for a thick heavy cream to use, they may work better for you than regular lotion. You can find them at almost any drug store. Also if you are outside in the cold, wear gloves. Another tip, when you wash your hands make sure you dry them of very well, including between your fingers. You probably need: prescription meds, but until you can see dermatologist, try using aquaphor 2-3 times a day and wear cotton gloves over aquaphor at bedtime. Dry hands: the first step would be to make sure you are not irritating your skin with any topicals. then use an emollient at night- place on your hands and wrap them in plastic wrap(sleep like this).
