Awake it can be anywhere from 20-30 breaths per minute. Asleep may reduce somewhat. Key is does your child seem in distress during the sleep cycle and breathing pattern? If overweight or abnormally loud snoring/breathing patterns see your MD to see if an issue exits. Sleep apnea problems can be seen in children too.
