Second opinion: It is rare to do surgery for gas and it probably won't work, in my opinion. Usually it's a dietary issue and this won't be taken care of with surgery. I would recommend another GI and surgeon opinion. ...Read more

Change diet: You should see a gastroenterologist for evaluation and a nutritionist to assess your diet. Not only will resection of your colon not address your flatulence, it could actually make it worse. Stay away from this surgeon. ...Read more
