Hiv Symptoms After Two Years Of Exposure
No: Usually, HIV presents with a tonsillitis presentation about 4 weeks after initial exposure (fever, sore throat, body aches, lymph node enlargement) but then it subsides to emerge as aids years ago, although, cases of less latency (1-2 years) have been described. At 3 months, infected patients don't normally have any symptoms. ...Read more
Hiv infection is caused by a retrovirus....This retrovirus binds to CD4 cells (for the most part). You may detect the virus by several different methods. An elisa test (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay). You may also detect it by doing a test referred to as a western blot (a gel protein electrophoresis). Any recent case of hiv antibody take more than 1 year to develop after exposure? I am neg 4th gen after 1 year of exposure. Is this final?
Yes: Unless you do something risky again. 4th generation also looks for the antigen, which precedes the antibody and remains present until antibody forms. I hope you'll both learn from the risky experience, and also have it as a fond memory -- no matter how flawed human love always is, you were close to another person and that's always precious. Best wishes. ...Read more
Hiv negative 48 weeks after possible exposure. Had early HIV symptoms in the 2-3 months after, then neuropathy in legs at 5 months. Should i worry?
No: A negative test that long after exposure should reassure you. ...Read more
Trust it: A nucleic-acid based test simply won't be wrong at this date. An antibody test is so likely to be correct that nobody knows the rate of false negatives. One factor is that someone claiming to have seroconverted two years after a single event may not be presenting their history correctly. I'd be thankful for good health and get on with your life. ...Read more

Stop smoking, man: Please do whatever you can to break your slavery to this terrible addiction. Ask your dentist whether the white lesions need to be biopsied. HIV test negative at four weeks from exposure. The type of exposure was me performing brief oral sex on a HIV positive male without ejaculation.
Recurrence of symptoms one month after initial infection/food poisoning incident. Recurrence has happened in all four people originally infected.
What is the actual window period of hiv? What if I am tested with ELISA HIV after six month in intial expose the result?
Uninfected: If you are elisa assay negative 6 months after exposure to HIV you are almost certainly free of infection. Anything is possible, but absent an inability to form antibodies you should have converted to a positive assay if you were infected. The better question is why you are allowing yourself to be exposed. Use protection. Be careful, trust nobody (when it comes to sex). ...Read more
Indeterminate western blot after three years of exposure with p24 and again the same results after one month.is it still window period?
See an HIV expert: This is a complex situation, can't sort it out on this forum with the info you provide. Most people with indeterminate HIV WB results do not have HIV. But indeterminate due to p24 can be found during serconversion, as you seem to know. WB is not usually done any more -- other confirmatory methods are used. If not in the care of an infectious diseases or HIV/AIDS expert, ask for referral ASAP. ...Read more

Depends on test: If the test was HIV nucleic acid test, that is good, though even that should be repeated in about 2 months. Antibody tests being negative is not nearly as good and should be redone every couple of months for a year. Please note that post-exposure treatment is generally effective and, God forbid you are in a similar predicament again, seek care as soon as possible, after exposure. ...Read more
HIV negative via Elisa and rna 20 years after any possible exposure but having symptoms of late stage HIV. Weight loss and fatigue and low testostero?
Not HIV: The tests for HIV are among the most accurate diagnostic tests ever developed, for any medical condition. Therefore, test results always overrule symptoms, exposure history, or anything else. And of course weight loss, fatigue, etc are common to innumerable medical conditions besides HIV/AIDS (and HIV doesn't cause low testoserone). Your test results prove HIV is not the cause of these problems. ...Read more
