I had an unprocted sex 3 days later I had rashes on my face n chest , 2 weeks later I'm down with a sorethroat ,can it be a symptom of HIV?

Probably not: HIV takes time to alter your immune system. These would not be apparent in this short amount of time. However I would see a physician to find out what is causing these symptom. In all likelihood its a simple virus not HIV ...Read more

Rash (Definition)

Diaper rash is an irritation of the skin caused by dampness, urine, or feces. Most babies who wear diapers will have some type of diaper rash. However, there are other skin disorders that can cause rashes. These are usually not serious unless ...Read more

Have shingles and have been getting rashes on my leg, pubic area, face, mouth why would my doc want a HIV test, I am offended by this I have shingles ?

Have shingles and have been getting rashes on my leg, pubic area, face, mouth why would my doc want a HIV test, I am offended by this I have shingles ?

You should be tested: Try not to be offended, your doc has your best interest in mind and is being complete in the work up. 'Shingles' usually appears in a dermatome (meaning that it only follows one single nerve distribution). If we see that it is in MORE than one distribution then we start to worry about other underlying problems because it is not the way that shingles usually presents. I would recommend the test. ...Read more

I have itchy rash that started on my thighs about 3 to 4 weeks ago, and now it has developed on my face. What could be the cause? Could it be hiv

No.: There are characteristic hallmarks of hiv, but "itchy rash" is not one of them. Most common causes would be virus, drug reaction, and allergy to something you came in contact with or ingested. Let a dermatologist evaluate you and tell you for sure. ...Read more

Itchy skin rash all over body (except for face, neck, palms and soles) for 14 days. NO fever, NO flu-like symptons, NO lymph node. Can it be HIV ARS?

Itchy skin rash all over body (except for face, neck, palms and soles) for 14 days. NO fever, NO flu-like symptons, NO lymph node. Can it be HIV ARS?

Rash: It sounds more likely that it is an allergic reaction to something. The fact that it is not on the palms and soles of your feet makes other bad things less likely. Skin rashes are hard to diagnose and the diagnosis depends on where the rash is, the color, whether there are blotches, raised bumps and many other things. You can buy benadryl (diphenhydramine) in the pharmacy for itching and if it persists see DR. ...Read more

I was wondering are HIV rashes constant or do they come and go?

I was wondering are HIV rashes constant or do they come and go?

Depends on the rash: The rash associated with acute HIV (red flat rash over trunk ; sometimes face) occurs in 50% and is very transient. Kaposi sarcoma lesions tend to stick around a long time with or without treatment. Eosinophilic (allergic) dermatitis assoc w/hiv tends to stick around w/o therapy ; fungal infections do the same. There are some specific rashes to late stage HIV which also stick around a long time. ...Read more
