Not HIV: HIV doesn't cause rash alone; without sore throat, fever, and/or enlarged lymph nodes, you can be sure the rash isn't due to new HIV. Also, if you had a 4th generation or "duo" test, the negative result 28 days after the last possible exposure is conclusive. If an antibody-only test, it's still around 95% reliable, but for reassurance you might get tested again at 6-8 weeks. Good luck! ...Read more

Just do an HIV test: Some people are known to get leg itching and rashes from running (cause is unknown). If it is from histamine release, one can try taking Claritin (loratadine) or Zyrtec, 1/2 hour before running. If it is from the heat, try running at sunrise. If it is from blocked sweat glands, try a sauna 3 times a week. Maybe one can make a dermatologist appointment, and then run to the clinic to show a fresh itchy rash. ...Read more

Can HIV survive the acids in your stomach or digestive system?

Can HIV survive the acids in your stomach or digestive system?

Probably not: The concern is that oral sex admits the virus through the tonsils or other head-and-neck lymphoid tissue. Epidemiology shows it's not very efficient; women just aren't getting it from women this way, and catching it from a man seems difficult. Safe stuff (barrier protection, monogamy with someone hiv-negative) is still by far your best choice. ...Read more

I am worried if I have hiv, its been a month and i been having stomach problems like diahreaa, what test after a month can tell i don't have hiv?

HIV Testing: I believe you have been told this answer at least three times. The only test you can have at this point that would be 100% accurate is the HIV RNA pcr test. Diarrhea is once again not in any way a symptom of an std, including hiv. ...Read more
