Low: A man using condom properly is very unlikely to contract HIV from vaginal intercourse with a woman. Most men find this sort of experimenting to be less than truly satisfying, and I'm sorry that this has also caused you fear for your health. Your physician can test you using a pcr assay for acute infection to set your mind at ease. ...Read more

About 3 month ago, I having a protected sex with a prostitute and I release inside the condom then I thrust for few times more, did I exposure to hiv?

Who has what?: If the customer and the prostitute both do not have hiv, then neither one is getting exposed to HIV during the activities. If the prostitute has HIV and the customer doesn't, then there are many activities that will expose the customer to the prostitute's hiv. The same goes for the customer: if the customer has HIV and the prostitute doesn't, then the customer is exposing HIV to the prostitute. ...Read more

Dear doctori had protected sex (by condom) with a sex-worker woman, 20 days ago. I don't know any thing about her health. I am worried about hiv. Is it possible that I might have contractedit?

Get tested for STDs: Most people w/ a new HIV infection will test positive by approx 25 days post exposure. Although u should get tested sometime around a month post exposure, it's also recommended that u get tested again 12 weeks after the exposure. Be sure to get comprehensive std testing along w/ HIV testing. See sexualhealth. Com or go to a local std clinic or primary care doc. Use condoms and avoid sex workers. ...Read more

Sex with hiv- person first time used condom for 1/2 min do I get hiv?

Most likely not: Using barriers such as condoms, dams, and gloves correctly, every time during sex and being the insertive rather than receptive partner makes your risk small. Couples where one is hiv+ and the other hiv- have vaginal, anal, and oral sex for years without the negative partner converting. Get tested for hiv/stds one month after the contact. Check with your public health department about testing. ...Read more

Sex with a condom on two occasions used condom both times but second time the condom wasn't all the way at the base quickly fixed. HIV CHANCE????

Condom use: If the condom was used prior to ANY form sexual activity which includes oral sex, then your chances of HIV are minimal. The greater question is, why is sex an option at all if you are concerned about the HIV status of the partner? Sexual activity should be between two people who know each other well enough to know their HIV status prior to sharing "bodily fluids" ...Read more

Odds a man get HIV from a woman (if she positive) if sex was protected, only 5min, came in condom after pullout¬ break, & was rolled all way down?

"Safe Sex" and HIV: This scenario is common and it sounds like you did everything right.

If you wore a condom during insertion throughout the encounter it is very unlikely that you have anything to worry about as far as being exposed to hiv.

If your partner is on HIV medications and has successfully suppressed the virus then she is very likely not to be too contagious.

Keep up the good work with sexual safety. ...Read more

HIV, how long would it take to take an early effect? Can it have no effect? I had protected sex 9days ago, and I'm not sure if condom didn't break....

Get tested: The course of HIV infection is highly variable and you cannot rely on symptoms for diagnosis. One option is to take post-exposure prophylaxis, however, you may have missed that window. At 3-4 months after exposure, get a HIV nucleic acid test, if that is negative, that would essentially rule out HIV infection. ...Read more

If sex is safe with a condom (used proper)and hiv can't permeate thru a condom and I only lasted like 30 secs with an unknown part shuld I get tested?

Do Your Own Research: Yeah, get your head tested. What you doin', bro? This is not the century of "unknown" partners. And for 30 seconds? Well, "to each his own, " as they say. Which also means "you own it.' Anyways, an intact condom should do the trick, especially after only a 30-second exposure. But who knows what'll happen in the future...Overall, though "proper" protection is the best you can do, which is pretty good ...Read more

Can you get hiv from a men with an unknown status if had sex (penetration for a minute) then use condom?

Yep!: It's not very likely...but while the duration of penetration may be a factor, any penetration could transmit viral particles. Fortunately, female receptive sex is not associated with as high transmission rates as other types of sexual behaviors. Extreme care would suggest you have an HIV test in 4-6 weeks. Practice safe sex at every encounter! ...Read more

Can you get HIV from getting a blowjob? Last Monday I meant an escort and she performed oral sex on me. I wore condom for most of it n did not cum.

Low odd to catch...: The reported scenario carries low odd to catch but not impossible if she is a HIV carrier and your two lines of barriers fail to defend, i.e., having broken the mucosa in contact and poor personal humoral immune ability. Despite carrying inherent risk, the odd to contract HIV remains low. For sexually active men within high-risk category like multiple partners, a yearly test on HIV is reasonable. ...Read more

Close to no risk: It is good that you take the threat of HIV/AIDS seriously, but to be fair to yourself, find a good source of information and study it. Worry will take a lot of the joy from sex and knowledge will relieve worry when you're safe. Her saliva would be a very poor (really zero) carrier even if she was positive. And, you'd need an open wound on your penis. You're okay, but learn. Best wishes! ...Read more

Get tested: You did the right thing. Although the risk is very low, phone your personal physician now and ask what you should do. You may also ask your partner whether they know their HIV status -- even if this was just casual fun, common humanity would make this an appropriate question. There are other illnesses as well that can be caught this way ; a pregnancy can spoil three lives. Be safe. ...Read more
