Took following tests:
Hiv (1&2 quali)
Hbsag rapid screening
All negative/non reactive. Does this cover herpes? All other std?
Hiv infection is caused by a retrovirus....This retrovirus binds to CD4 cells (for the most part). You may detect the virus by several different methods. An elisa test (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay). You may also detect it by doing a test referred to as a western blot (a gel protein electrophoresis). Thirdly by pcr (polymerase chain reaction) which ...Read more
Hiv test.Says negative but RPR says non reactive does my HIV test sugguest i could have aids? Took hiv1 and hiv2
No: If i understand your question correctly, the report says your blood tests are "non-reactive" for hiv. That means there are no antibodies in your blood against the virus, suggesting you have not been exposed to it, in other words the test is negative. "non-reactive" does not suggest you have aids. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Can HCV co-infection affect the accuracy of HIV rapid test results? If HIV and HCV antibodies tests are negative at 5 months, are HIV results accurate
It shouldn't: Antibody tests are specific for the antibodies being tested for, so hcv antibodies shouldn't have an effect on HIV antibody tests. If you've tested negative at 5 months, i don't see why those results wouldn't be accurate, but if you want to be sure, you can always wait another 4-6 months and have the HIV test repeated. ...Read more
CRP is non specific: CRP is quite a non specific test and may not be related to swelling particularly since other tests are negative. Discuss with rheumatologist or doctor who ordered the test. ...Read more
Can you have osteoarthritis and even lupus with a low CRP and sed rate? I've tested positive for anticardiolipin antibodies.
Tb blood tested negative but TB skin testd positive, what is that mean? Continuous low grade fever, swollenlumpnodes, sore thrt, HIV PCR RNA negative.
Contradictory Tb tst: Quantiferon-TB(the blood test) and the PPD(skin test) are not recommended together. The quantiferon test has more sensitivity/specificity(measures for how good medical tests are) but the gold standard is culturing the bacteria from either tissue or sputum which should be attempted if their is clinical suspicion for TB infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have oral hair leukoplakia and fever, lymphnodes..etc but HIV PCR RNA 5,15 week; HIV ab 8,13,28,33 weeks all neg, am I HIV free?? Ebv is caus?
Could be-: If repeated HIV testing is (-), and oral hairy leukoplakia (OHL) is present, then you don't have HIV. You have another type of viral infection . EBV is certainly a leading diagnosis- there are specific blood tests that can determine if you have an active or past infection. If the OHL is a soft diagnosis, consider other viruses such as Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Human Herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6). ...Read more
Cbc shows lympho 18.4% and esr of 42.have low grade fever sonce 2 weeks with fatigue and body pain.neg blood culture typhoid ebv and tsh.which virus?
More info needed: The lymphocyte count is normal or close to it (depending to some extent on what your total white blood cell count is). However, 42 is quite a high ESR. The causes you list are possible, but there probably are a hundred other health conditions that could do this. You haven't provided nearly enough information to even guess. Keep working with your doctor. Good luck! ...Read more

What do these blood tests indicate?
Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and c-reactive protein ESR is 21 and the c-reactive is 0.6
I have CBC test where monocytes are high, liver enzymes ALT high; also EBV IgG positive, CMV IgG positive CMV IgM normal.. Hiv negative at 32 weeks.
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would help to have the actual values of the results. The one item of interest is high ALT. If you drink alcohol, stop entirely for three months and redo the test. Other results are okay. ...Read more
