Hiv 1 Screen 4 Th Generation Wrfx Non Reactive
CMIA 4th gen antibody screening test (not antigen) for hiv 1 & 2 @50 days is 0.15 non reactive. Is antibody screening without antigen accurate @7thweek?
Conclusive at 6+ wk: Official advice by many agencies is that stand-alone HIV antibody tests are not conclusive until 3 months. However, with the modern tests in current use, including the test you had, the results actually are conclusive any time 6 or more weeks after exposure. Feel free to have another test at 3 months if another negative result will help you get beyond your fears. But i really isn't necessary. ...Read more
Hiv infection is caused by a retrovirus....This retrovirus binds to CD4 cells (for the most part). You may detect the virus by several different methods. An elisa test (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay). You may also detect it by doing a test referred to as a western blot (a gel protein electrophoresis). Thirdly by pcr (polymerase chain reaction) which ...Read more

Can a non reactive .08 HIV 1&2 CMIA Ag Ab P24 duo result @ 56 days PE turn positive @ 12 weeks? WBC-6000 & lymph % 39. Thanks!
Is ELISA test for HIV 1 & 2 antibodies conclusive after 8-9 weeks of exposure? Does NON-REACTIVE mean NEGATIVE?
ELISA for HIV: The ELISA test is not conclusive after any amount of time. The ELISA is a screening test and if it comes back positive, a Western blot will need to be done. Non-reactive is a good thing to be and it does mean that you are negative for HIV virus. Although there is a window period when you can have the HIV virus but still have a nonreactive result. Another test may be needed in that case. Suerte ...Read more
Would RNA PCR for HIV 1 n cmia duo detect subtype e n other rare subtypes also at 8 months post xposr n thailnd ..Many smptms?Negative result coclusive?
Yes, but...: The latest pcr tests for HIV should be able to detect the rarer subtypes, but in life, no test is perfect. Life is about chances (probabilities, likelihoods), so if it has been 8 months since a known high risk exposure to HIV and one's primary doctor (or infectious diseases doctor) has done adequate testing, then negative results mean one did not catch HIV that time. Keep in touch with the doctor. ...Read more
HIV NEGATIVE combo (antibody + antigen) tests at 4,6,10,13,14 weeks and PCR RNA VL UNDETECTED (14 weeks) white tongue, chronic pharyngitis. Am I HIV-?
You are HIV negative: Listen, man. Stop doing this to yourself. Get to an otolaryngologist and see if you have a post-nasal drip, maybe heavy snoring without realizing it, or some actual serious illness. Try scraping the stuff off your tongue with a piece of dental floss; if it's still white patches, ask your dentist's opinion also. But please get over these HIV fears. Maybe even be thankful for having shared love. ...Read more
HIV NEGATIVE combo (antibody + antigen) tests at 4,6,10,13,14 weeks and PCR RNA VL UNDETECTED (14 weeks) white tongue. Risk: gay deep kiss. Am I HIV-?
You are HIV-neg: I hope this is good news. "White tongue" is usually bacteria, and you may be able to scrape them off with a piece of dental floss held tight. You can trust the test if it is your only exposure. I hope you're comfortable with your sexuality and that you're pleased to have shared a kiss -- guys of all orientations may enjoy perhaps kissing a buddy, and nobody's ever gotten HIV by kissing. ...Read more
Male 57, hepatitis C antibody result says reactive 14 with cutoff of 1 . Test performed byy ECLIA . How much chance of false positive. Prognosis?
Check viral load: Even when people have high titer hepatitis c antibody responses, some do not have active infection because their immune system cleared their virus on their own. So the first step is to check a hcv viral load (rna). If the virus is detected in the blood then you do have active infection. At that point you need testing to see how much liver scarring (fibrosis) you have. Work with a specialist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
1year post unprotected HIV exposure. 2 false + ELISA 1 w/neg ifa & 1w/ westernblot &naat. Autoimmune disease? Room for concern? Worth investigating?
Inother words would RNA PCR for HIV 1 n cmia duo detect subtype e and other rare subtypes also at 8 months post exposure in thailand ...Many smptms?
Can verify: You'll need to place a call to the lab to be sure they are testing for the rare subtypes, and you have every right to do this. However, if you have "many symptoms" and your only risky exposure was eight months ago, then your symptoms are not due to hiv, as it would be latent at this stage. I suspect you've got a bad case of the "nerves" -- i've had it too, and learned from it. Stay well. ...Read more
52 days post exposure. What test to take HIV 1 RNA PCR qualitative or quantitative. And does this test detect both HIV 1 abd 2 type?
Simultaneous detection of p24 antigen and antibody HIV 1and 2 cmia = 4th generation ag ab combo? Which means u have been tested for p24 /antibody ?
Yes and no...: The antibody portion of the test detects antibody to several HIV antigens in addition to p24. Probably you do have antibody to p24, but the test doesn't distinguish these various types. And it doesn matter. If your test is negative and it has been 4 weeks or more after your last possible exposure to HIV, the result is conclusive. ...Read more
Do I have hep b or c?Here's result!thanks!
anti hbs (cmia) 48.35 miu/ml - reactive
anti HCV (eclia) 0.08 non-reactive HBsAG - non reactive
In my medical report, done after 1 yr of exposure:
hbsag (australian antigen) : negative
hiv i : negative
hiv II : negative
Yes, negative: I assume this question is about serial tests for infections after an exposure. After a year, almost everyone who has acquired HIV will have developed an antibody response, so we take a negative HIV antibody test as evidence that someone did not acquire hiv. No evidence of chronic hepatitis b either if the surface antigen is not detected. There is a vaccine for hepatitis b. ...Read more
Wht cause a false pos ELISA HIV test with neg naat and western blot? 2 neg oral fluid rapid results. After 1 year exposur. Ihave autoimmune hypotyroid
No answer: Please. How many times are you going to ask the same question. There is no right answer here. Your body has something triggering the simple HIV antibody test to be positive. It is not HIV causing this symptom. In the future you should avoid these tests and get the better test. You have been given this answer numerous times. It is time to move on. ...Read more
