My 6mo is starting to sit unsupported but will frequently fall over and hit head on carpet. Is this potentially harmful if I allow it daily?
I have a hard knot on bottom left side of skull & haven't hit head, it's gotten bigger since I noticed it about 2 wks ago & isn't painful what is it?
Hard to say: Hard to say w/o feeling and seeing it. Could be the mastoid, a normal bump behind the earlobe. Might be you never noticed it before. If it's growing, probably a lymph node and should go down in a few days to weeks. If continues to grow or becomes painful, see a doctor. Probably a benign thing (nothing to worry about). ...Read more

Best to evaluate: A 2 year old with an acute head injury likely needs prompt evaluation to determine if they need any further studies such as neuroimaging (mri or ct scan). Hit head, only had headache for few months, then they stopped, I hit it again, and now ache and fog there for even longer. Worried it won't heal?
"Ache" and "fog": Presumably it will "heal" although it may take longer, depends on the length of time between the two hits and how hard you hit your head, there's really nothing you can do but wait (and try to keep from hitting your head so often, or keep a bicycle helmet with you). ...Read more

My 2 yo was in front of shopping cart. Bros jumped on cart & knocked it forward to ground. Don't think he hit head or very lightly. No crying. Worry?
Generally no concern: Most of the time if a child hits himself against an object, falls on a hard surface and the like just observe your child. Of course, settings and children are different. Generally if no loss of consciousness, child is herself/himself, then just observation should be enough. However, if the child shows any odd behivior, then an emergency evaluation would be wise. Most importantly remain calm! ...Read more

You're a 27-year-old, which isn't the typical type of person we see with chronic subdural hematomas. They're more often seen in babies, the elderly, and alcoholics. Hope that helps! ...Read more
