Probably not: It is not surprising to have a headache after hitting your head on granite. Your scalp is very likely bruised and may be quite sore, tender and/or swollen for a while. If you did not lose consciousness and you have no other symptoms and if your physical exam was normal, there is probably no need to do a ct scan. ...Read more

No knockout/no pbm: The trauma that knocks you out, even briefly, has produced a concussion.If the trauma wasn't enough to cause even brief loss of function is minor. A bump coming out, means he has a blood pocket under the scalp, but should do fine. Hitting one's head hard on the desk can easily cause headaches, and even if it's self induced, it warrants you seeing your own doctor and getting it checked out! If you have pressure behind the eye, it can signal some sinus issues or also referred pain from cervicalgia (neck issues). Headaches: Most causes of headaches are benign. That is - the worst thing about them is that they hurt. Headaches that subside are almost always benign. At your age, a headache on one side that lasts a few days is probably a migraine.

The injury you had more than one year ago is not likely to be a factor to this headache symptom. Hope that helps! ...Read more

You might be left with a thickness in the area.
