Yes: Herniated disks that are cause of sciatica pain typically get worse with sitting, bending at the waist, and definitely worse with bending/twisting and raising a heavy object. See an Orthopod/PCP: To get worked up and a DX could be reached, so treatment could be started. I don't know of any connection between sitting cross legged ; hip pain. It probably relates to your profession or what you have been doing all day. A back or hip lesion could be responsible for it, ; I am sure your docs would be able to help you. Good luck.
