Possible arthritis: You should be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of hip pain. Positional pain such as you describe is often due to an arthritic process. Sitting places the hip in more flexion, and slouchiing, though bad for overall posture, decreases the bendingat the hip. The injury/arthritis is likely in the anterior or front of the hip. However, given that you are a dancer, and age 15, you could have easily pulled a tendon off the bone, possibly even pulling a small piece of bone with it. If conservative measures with rest, ice and anti-inflammatories doesn't allow you to return to dancing, then you should see a sports medicine specialist to get the proper diagnosis and treatment plan. ...Read more
