I sleep on the floor to alleviate back pain but lately have been getting severe hip pain during the night, what can I do?

Try a firm mattress: You are likely suffering from prolonged diect compression over the bony prominence of your hips referred to as the greater trochanter. A bursa exists between the skin and the bony prominence there, and can become inflamed and cause local pain and irritation that could easily wake you at night. Some level of padding, perhaps in the form of a firm mattress, may help alleviate the pain. ...Read more

Hip pain esp during sleep. Almost like has catch n it but worse then pain during day after. Have to lay flat to ease off during the night?

Bursitis: Sounds like - pain on the outside of the hip along the bone is called trochanteric pain syndrome or bursitis. I'm 18, I have severe hip pain during my period. My period cramps are also very painful. What could this mean?

Means you need exam: There's no benefit from guessing at the outcome of an exam before it's done. Even if one guessed right, it would do nothing to correct the problem. So, the right course of action is an exam and treatment plan for whatever is found. Pain, especially severe acute pain can be a great aid in early detection of a problem. Take advantage of it to make it right as soon and as well as possible. ...Read more
