I am having hip pain, started boniva (ibandronate) 3 days ago, I am not getting better. How long until it wears off? What should I do? I can't sleep. I need to know what to do.
Bone : Bone pain can happen with this class of medicine and you can take antiiflammatory medication such as advil or Aleve to help with the pain (assuming those medications do not interact with your other meds and you do not have heart or stomach problems). However, you should make sure that your calcium level was checked before you started Boniva (ibandronate) as a low calciium level can trigger bone pain. Additionally, if the bone pain persists or worsens you should see your doctor as a rare type of fragility fracture can occur with the bisphosphonate class of medication. ...Read more
Have hip pain in both hips following a fall that occurred 5 days ago. Some nights the pain is so bad, I can't sleep. Because on both, I don't always have a good side to sleep on. Pain in buttocks area
NSAID: Sounds like the bursa over the trochanter is irritated by this pressure. Non steroidal anti inflammatory agents like Aleve (naproxen) are helpful,,but I would see an orthopoedist or PMR doc for full evaluation and make certain this is a hip,and not a spine problem. Topicals can help, physical, therapy, injections and oral medications might be indicated, but diagnosis is required first ...Read more

What can be causing pain in my right hip? Pain is on the inside. Hurts to sleep on it and sometimes walk
I sleep on the floor to alleviate back pain but lately have been getting severe hip pain during the night, what can I do?
Try a firm mattress: You are likely suffering from prolonged diect compression over the bony prominence of your hips referred to as the greater trochanter. A bursa exists between the skin and the bony prominence there, and can become inflamed and cause local pain and irritation that could easily wake you at night. Some level of padding, perhaps in the form of a firm mattress, may help alleviate the pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is it normal to have hip pain at 36 weeks preg I can barely walk when I wake up in the morning or I been limping. Started few days ago. Can't sleep!:(?
PG/A pain in the ass: Late stage pregnancy can be a "pain in the "hip" as the engaged fetal part (head or bottom) is now putting pressure deep in the pelvis on the nerves that run to the hip.
