Most likely not: It is not clear if the pt had a blood clot in the leg or to the lung. Hip pain per se is not a sign of a blood clot. There is more to the story we have not heard. Generally you can't: Unless you have a fever or swollen limb which may suggest a clot more than sciatica otherwise not very specific. I would suggest ruling out the clot first and then workup the sciatica issue afterwards. ...Read more
