Had heminamilectomy (sp?) and Discectomy on Tuesday. I'm still having hip pain and some mild leg weakness. Normal?

One of the most common causes of hip pain. Is osteoarthritis. Oa is usually seen in middle and old age, I do not know your age.
Other causes include impingement syndromes, bursitis, muscle issues, snapping hip, trauma, transient osteoporosis, osteonecrosis or avn, and the list goes on.

Here is the list - osteoarthritis, gout, strain, labral tear, inguinal hernia, sports hernia, avascular necrosis, bone contusion, tendonitis/bursitis, pinched nerve in lower back, etc.
As you can see, the list is pretty long. Remember, common things are common, so things like arthritis, strains/sprains and tendonitis tend to top the list.
