While you: Should improve your nutrition including calcium and d no matter what, your symptoms don't suggest osteopenia, but recent change in exercise habits. Osteopenia is is asymptomatic. Check w/your physician. ...Read more

No wonder: The vitamin d3 level should be between 60 and 80 and as a supplement should be taken with a well rounded multivitamin and vitamin k. He may need as much as 50, 000 units d3 weekly. Usually not: Sounds more like degenerative arthritis in the hips or sacrum or si joints. Osteopenia doesn't generally cause pain. It makes fractures more likely and they hurt. ...Read more

Osteopenia: At age 62 you should be a bit concerned but for now I would strongly suggest you check with the doctor whether or not your need drug therapy. Please let me know what your doctor said. ...Read more

Separate these Dx: Fibromyalgia is widespread pain, non-restful sleep, and severe fatigue. This is unrelated to osteopenia (painless) which is a deficiency in bone mineralization. Neither of these diagnoses (Dx) are autoimmune conditions. The ANA is a test used to confirm certain autoimmune conditions such as scleroderma and lupus. However, caution here, THE ANA ALONE CANNOT DIAGNOSE ANY CONDITION. ...Read more
