Hip Numbness While Sleeping
What is causing numbness and pain in my right hip. Gets worse when I try to sleep on my right side. Very sensitive to the lightest touch?
Varies: There are a few potential causes and I would not hesitate to be seen for it. The two most common causes are an irritation of a nerve in the back which can cause pain or numbness into the hip and leg. The other very common cause is a bursitis/tendinitis of the hip which can usually be eliminated by a cortisone shot. An exam can distinguish between the two.
I have a numbness in my right hip lately at night before I go to sleep. Sleeping on my back or left hip makes it worse. Please help.?
Numbness right hip: Numbness in right hip may be due to entrapment of the nerve as it passes between the upper front hip and the upper point of the hip bone which may occur as weight gain makes tight undergarments, belting or the waistband of your pants. Numbness may also occur due to pinching of nerve arising from the lower back. Please consult your physician if the numbness persists despite weight loss management.
Pain behind right knee? Sometime in butt down to calf? Numbness in back of ankle. No back pain! Hips hurt when sleep on 1 side to long.
Lumbar disk disease: This is the approximate distribution of a sciatica type syndrome. If you have a computer go to google and type in dermatome map. If you look at the dermatome MAP you can see the distribution of where the nerves come from the supply the specific areas mentioned. If this is that symptomatic you probably need to go in and see your doctor and get a MRI of the lumbar spine for further evaluation.

Am I not explaining it right? Feels like when your foot falls asleep, in my l side joints! Mainly l hip/shoulder. Numbness gettin worse, what is this?
Numbness: In the absence of better explanation, numbness in one side of your body could alert your physicians of a problem in the spinal cord or brain at the sensory relay areas (thalamus) or parietal white matter or cortex. This could be due to a demyelinating disorder. Conversely, a concomitant neck and lower back condition can very well explain your symptoms. Check with your md. Hope u get well soon.
Pain in pelvic area to my hip to my toes and numbness and itchy pain in arch of foot also tingles and fall asleep. Could this be Neuropathy or Sciatica?
My hip will go numb/tingly when I lay on my side to sleep. Its been happening on and off for about a year but now it's every time. I'm only 18 btw?
Transient nerve: compression. Everybody's anatomy is slightly different and your nerves supplying the skin around your hip may run closer to the surface; also more likely compression if you are slender with little subcutaneous fat for cushion. Likely the nerves are compressed, recover, but too soon recompressed accounting for increased frequency. Avoid lying on that side; put pillow behind to keep from rolling over
It means: That your nerves have been stunned. Try to switch positions when you sleep to avoid this problem.
When I sleep on one side for a long period of time my hip goes a little numb and hurts really bad. It happens to either side. What causes this?
Pressure: On the nerves. Most people shift positions without waking. Try sleeping on your back or front.

Obstructive Sleep: Apnea is a condition of cessation of breathing during sleep that lasts for 10 seconds or longer. OSA should first be confirmed with the proper medical sleep studies. Regardless, the cause, could be only muscle pain or anxiety. However, pain in your chest with the symptoms you have described is a serious medical condition. It is always a red flag and appointment with your PCP or cardiologist.
Nerve compression: Numbness in the fingers, particularly at night, is a very common symptom of nerve compression such as carpal tunnel syndrome or cubital tunnel syndrome. Evaluation by a hand surgeon can help diagnose this and they will also perform either nerve studies and or ultrasound to assist with the diagnosis and confirm wether it is a nerve compression.See 1 more doctor answer
I am what you would say "big boned" - wide shoulders, rib cage, hips. What do you think could be causing the numbness?
Several things: This problem can only be solved by seeing your doctor and being evaluated face-to-face. After a thorough examination, your doctor should be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.
Soft swelling left side abdoman, pain comes and goes (mainly early morning). Accompanied by numbness in left outer side of hip?

Hello! I had a sudden onset of numbness that extends from the right side of my spine almost to the front of my right hip? No injury that I'm aware of.
Sciatica: The sciatic nerve supplies sensation from the buttocks all the way down to the toes. Anything that compresses the nerve can cause sciatica. Your need to see a doctor to find the underlying cause for the right treatment to be prescribed. Meanwhile stay comfortably active & avoid prolonged sitting or heavy lifting. If you get bowel or bladder control problems or fever, seek IMMEDIATE care.See 1 more doctor answer
