Nortriptyline safe? Doc said will help headaches. I looked up side effects. Fast heart rate. Low blood pressure. Hepatitis. These common side effects?
Yes, It is safe: As long as the dose is started low and gradually increased until you have pain control, there should be no problem with lightheadedness or dizziness. It is a safe medication and in fact was the most commonly prescribed antidepressant up until about 1985. I have treated hundreds of patients with it and have done research with it as well. The most common side effects in the long run are dry mouth, constipation, difficulty urinating if the doses too high especially, andblurred vision only close up reading. An occasional patient will also have G.I. Upset. Lightheadedness and dizziness is a function of dose and can be regulated by checking a blood level if necessary. If you find yourself being lightheaded or dizzy make sure that you get up slowly from a lying or sitting position and dangling legs over the side of the bed especially the middle of the night for about 30 seconds will allow the blood to move up up towards your head so you won't get lightheaded or dizzy standing. Anoccasional craving for sweets can occur with this medication and is to some degree dose dependent. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No: It depends on what bad is? Any antipsychotic "by law" must be told that you might have side effects... Might never means that you will have them. Do not panic with side effects. Why do we mention it? Bec. We have to.. Your doctor can always check you for those side effects such as incr. Cholesterol and sugar weight etc. I would not give too much weight to side effects if regularly checked.. ...Read more
Microtubules!: Vincristine stops the formation of microtubules, which are important in cell division (leading to nausea, low blood counts, hair loss, etc.) but microtubules ALSO transport chemicals inside our nerve cells. Does raisins(dry grapes) effect on tacrolimus level? N any other fruits are there dat effect on tac level?
Avoid grapefruit: One may take tacrolimus with food. Keep the "type and amount" of food the same. Changes in the diet may change how tacrolimus is absorbed into the body, thus altering the level. Take the same type of drink, such as apple juice, with each dose of tacrolimus. Avoid grapefruit, pomelos or tangelos or their juices while on tacrolimus because they affect how the body handles tacrolimus. Grapes are ok. ...Read more
Bradycardia?: I assume by "low pulse" you mean an inappropriately slow heart rate, or "bradycardia". HOWEVER, since it became available, cases of associated bradycardia have been reported & label was updated appropriately. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
