High Rdw Blood Test
Need more info: All lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the test is usually in the best position to do that. You did not state your question and what you described could well be normal for you. ...Read more
I'm wanting to know when some of your blood test are high what does it mean. WBC is 13.5 RDW is 15.9 NEUR is 8.9
CBC interpretation: WBC=white blood cell count, typically reported in mm3. Yours is 13,500. Normal is 4,500-10,800. Mild elevations can be due to infection, especially when mainly neutrophils, as seen in your CBC. RDW=red cell distribution width. It is a measurement of variation in RBC size. Normal is <14.5. RDW can be elevated for a variety of reasons. Usually represents an increase in early forms. Hope this helps! ...Read more
My recent blood test showed , ESR and RDW levels slightly high, and hematocrit level decreased slightly. Should i be worried?
Lab data: Difficult to comment on lab results without clinical correlation, but you are slightly anemic and if this is iron deficient anemia it may be because of bleeding during your period and may require iron supplementation. The increased ESR and CRP are probably of no consequence. Get an answer to why your hemoglobin is low. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Suggests low iron: Mean corpuscular hemoglobin (mch) relates to how much hemoglobin on your red blood cell (see mchc - adds concentration to mch). Forget exact acronym, but RDW measures (via flow cytometry) size of many red cells--normal to have all about one size. If becoming anemic, see wide variation which raises RDW #. Both of these can be due to low iron, but also folate (folic acid) or B12--ask your Dr for context & plan ...Read more

I was feeling ill and went to er and was told I was fine but I see my rdw and monocyte is high on my blood test . Should I worry ?
Think positive...: If you have been checked in ER, your doctor would have told you if there was anything significantly wrong. The kind of changes in your blood that you have noticed are not all that important in terms of causing any health probleems. As long as your Hemoglobin(Hb), white cell count(WBC) and platelet count are in the normal(reference range) you can be worry free. Just think positively , U are healthy ...Read more
