Tinnitus is a high pitched sound. What can tinnitus cause?

Tinnitus is a high pitched sound. What can tinnitus cause?

Hearing loss: Although the question should more appropriately be what causes tinnitus, the best answer to give you is that in some patients at the beginning of their awareness of the sound in the ear, they become depressed, anxious and unhappy. Tinnitus does not cause anything else. But the presence of tinnitus, particularly, unilateral tinnitus rarely can be associated with an acoustic tumor. ...Read more

Why am I sensitive to light touching all over my body and high pitched sound?

Why am I sensitive to light touching all over my body and high pitched sound?

Sensitivity: Many people have unique sensitivities to various things, like touch, sound, odors, etc plus those you have mentioned. It can be an aspect of your temperament that you've had for a lifetime (and can help a homeopath find a medicine that will help you). It may also be related to conditions developed in your lifetime -- I've known patients who experience increased sensitivities after brain surgery. ...Read more

I had a TIA on nov 3rd and 10 days after the attack I have a high pitched sound in the right side of my brain, (not ears) is it from medications?

Unusual descript.: A sound "in your brain" can only be one of three things: 1) a true external sound with acoustic interference 2) a miscue of the auditory center within the brain responsible for localization of sound or 3) misplacement of inner narrative (as occurs with schizophrenia). You are likely suffering from #2. Certain meds are known to cause tinnitus or "ringing." please discuss with your doctors. ...Read more

Diplopia tinnitus: The inner ear affects balance and visual coordination. When it malfunctions tinnitus (high pitched ringing in the ear (s) is a common accompaniment. What can cause a swishing sound in ears when hearing high pitched sounds? Ear tests were ok and doc said I just had sensitive ears so should I accept?

May be other entity: There are other "things" that can cause one to hear swishing sounds in the ear so if your doctor has only sent you for audiometry testing you could inquire as to their opinion in performing some other tests to rule out something abnormal within the inner ear or even the neck itself. It is slightly odd that only high pitched sounds seem to trigger the noise though. I'm not sure what that indicates. ...Read more

What is wrong with my ears electronics hurt my ear now? A weak ago I had lots of wax in my ears the doctor cleaned out all the wax I went home now when its quiet I hear a high pitched sound from the television and when its quiet I hear a hissing sound my

If: If the doctors cleaned a large amount of wax out of your ears, you may simply be hearing things you couldn't hear with your ears plugged. I'm not sure what you mean by your ears being sensitive to electronics. If you mean you are hearing more hissing and high pitched sounds, it could just mean you can hear better. If you mean wearing ear buds and earphones hurts, it may be that your ear cartilage is sore from using electronics too much. Sometimes the ear canals can get bruised cleaning wax out of the ears, and that could cause discomfort as well. If the problem is slowly improving, I would wait. If getting worse, return to your doctor, or an ear doctor to have it checked out. ...Read more

Is hearing of a 'high pitch sound' for less than 1 second, every month or so, a problem?

My 6 month old baby is a very noisy sleeper he makes high pitch sounds he is breathing very well but he's been like this since born only in deep sleep?

Infant sleep: Hello. Since it is very hard to diagnose specific problems via this site, it is best to review any airway concern you may have with your pediatrician. Try to record the sounds your child sounds like. This can be very helpful for your doctor or a pediatric ENT specialist to confirm the etiology for the sounds. An airway evaluation may also be recommended. ...Read more

I have a high pitch sound in my left ear. I'm getting over a cold and I have terrible ringing in just my left ear. Will it go away on its own?

Possible: Unusual for viral illness to cause unilateral ear ringing (tinnitus), but some of the meds taken for a cold more often can cause tinnitus (eg NSAIDS or antibiotics). Even excessive earwax and eardrum irritation can result in ringing. There are many other potential causes, which warrants discussion with a physician. Rarely, unilateral tinnitus can be due to tumor or blood vessel problem. ...Read more

I've had this buzzing/high pitched ringing sound that happens randomly for a couple years now. My vision blurs sometimes only for a few seconds. I've had headaches too, most are moderate though & sometimes I can't hear anything it's kinda muffled.

High blood pressure: The symptoms you are describing are consistent with high blood pressure. If you have not seen a physician in a while, I would recommend getting your blood pressure checked as soon as possible. There are a lot of late complications from elevated blood pressures and if you have been having theses symptoms for a couple years, you are already at high risk. ...Read more

Spasm: A whining sound or wheeze produced by forced expiration is usually a sign of spasm in the bronchial tubes. A dry cough often follows. The accompanying sore throat suggests any early bronchitis which is probably viral in origin. Tinnitus: High pitched ringing is tinnitus, a sensation created by the brain when insufficient or abnormal signal sent from the ear (like phantom leg syndrome). If occurring less than 3 weeks and stable, then suspect noise exposure, head trauma, wax, medication side effect, infection, TMJ. ...Read more

When something is really funny, I have a high pitched laugh. Now, my laugh sounds different. What could this mean?

Laugh: Probably nothing to worry about. Interestingly enough, I've read that women's voice changes throughout their menstrual cycle and it's hormone regulated. I don't know whether this is a one time observation of pitch change or more long term. Other things to consider would be - upper respiratory infections coinciding with the change in pitch. If you suffer from acid reflux, you may have changes too. ...Read more
