High Liver Numbers In Blood Work
BUN and creatinine: If you have high BUN and creatinine levels, you may be dehydrated or you may have chronic kidney disease. Ask the physician who ordered the blood test for an opinion as to the cause of the high levels in the blood. The physician knows the patient best and can give a more meaningful answer to your question. Good luck. ...Read more
This organ plays a major role in metabolism and has a number of functions in the body, including glycogen storage, decomposition of red blood cells, plasma protein synthesis, hormone production, and detoxification. It lies below the diaphragm in the abdominal-pelvic region of the abdomen. It produces bile, an alkaline compound which aids in digestion via the emulsification of ...Read more
Textbooks: This question, to answer, would require a full text book. But, there are sites and books to read if you want to know. In my office when labs are abnormal I have a 30 minute session to go over the basics for the problem. To give you any advice a doctor would need the full cholesterol and metabolic panels. Not just the diagnosis. They would need your medication list and medical history. ...Read more
Would regular two month blood donation affect bilirubin, albumin and other liver function bloodwork? wouldnt the blood loss skew the LFT numbers?
Fetal Hemoglobin: The values of the WBC (white blood count) and hemoglobin (Hgb)-F or fetal hemoglobin are crucial to any answer. High Hgb-F is commonly seen in those with hereditary conditions affecting hemoglobin such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. If you have either of these then high Hgb-F and high WBC can occur. You need to present the actual numbers, and also tell us your ethnicity. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Liver testing: With the situation of elevation of liver enzymes and white blood cells, this requires a follow up with a physician to rule out an infection. Further imaging including abdominal ultrasound or ct scan of the abdomen may be warranted as well depending on the physical examination by the physician. ...Read more
What causes low white bloodcells (3.6)and low platelets (135)? Blood clotting, fasting sugar, thyroid, electrolytes, kidney and liver function are normal.
These are: Lowish but not low enough to do anything but repeat the test. The issue is why were they drawn? Higher WBC counts indicate infection, low counts of one element ( red cell, white cell or platelets) can be a variety of things for each from lack of production to excess destruction, to crowding out by other things. Too much to detail here, repeat the test and call your doctor. ...Read more
What do both high red and white blood count levels along with low MCH levels and high absolute Neutrophil levels mean on a CBC lab test?
Can't tell: without more information. Discuss this with your physician to interpret how this fits with your symptoms, physical findings, known conditions, etc. Good luck1 ...Read more
More info needed: High blood and platelet counts may mean nothing, but need to evaluate based on examination, white blood cell count and how high red cell count and platelet counts are. Iron deficiency can increase platelets as can inflammation; high altitude and smoking can raise the red count---a good history and physical are needed. Good luck. ...Read more
High microalbumin and microalbumin/creatinine lab results with good b.P. And kidney function. Why high?
High microablumin: Your microalbumin/creatinine being high signifies that you have proteinuria. See a nephrologist to have a 24 hour urine collection for creatinine clearance and protein to see how much protein you have in your urine for 24 hours and to see what your kidney function is. Blood work will be needed as well to diagnose the cause of your proteinuria. Go to a nephrologist to answer your question. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: It depends upon how abnormal the counts are. Laboratory normals are set at the laboratory level and do not indicate normal for everyone. Values slightly outside the range may be completely normal for you and not for another person. This is where your doctor uses their experience and personal knowledge of your case. ...Read more
In blood test. Neutrophils low. Lymphs high Monocytes high .But only reading high on absolute was Granulocytes and Neutrophils. Cause for concern?
How high?: Percentages mean nothing. If your absolute granulocyte count was slightly above the reference range without abnormal forms and you feel well, it means nothing; this fluctuates and a cold shower can double it. ...Read more
What does high 'mean platelet volume' and high 'lymphocytes' in complete blood count(cbc) test mean?
Discuss with PCP: Mean platelet volume (MPV) is a machine-calculated measurement of the average size of platelets found in blood. MPV is higher when there is destruction of platelets. Lymphocytes are usually high on viral infections or some cancers. Discuss with your doctor about it, as lab results by themselves, like this one, don't have a context to determine level of severity associated with them. ...Read more
I have low creatinine, high liver enzymes, low transferrin, high ferritin, low neutrophils and high lymphocytes. what could cause this combination?
Labs: Please forgive my frankness. Labs mean little in isolation. You're already carrying the diagnosis of adrneal insufficiency and Hashimoto's; I'm concerned you have Schmidt's. The iron picture concerns me for ongoing chronic inflammation somewhere, not your Hsahimoto's; low creatinine's not a worry and just how high / low your WBC's are is the key -- these fluctuate wildly from hour to hour. ...Read more
