My HCG at 5w5d (evening) was 22,000. I am concerned that this indicates down syndrome. Are high HCG levels in early pregnancy an indicator of DS?

Would an hCG level of 634 put a pregnancy in a range of 1 week or less than a week? Is it too high for less than a week?
Hcg levels: Preg is "dated" by first day of last menses. "a wk pregnant" is technically before conception, (typically around ovulation @ day 14 depending your cycle length). You'd be "3 weeks" "ega" est. Gestational age if conception a week ago. Nml HCG doubles every 48-72 hours till 8-11 weeks ega. Need an ultrasound: If you beta HCG is elevated, it may be normal or a sign of problems. A dramatically elevated HCG can be a "molar" pregnancy, which is a very abnormal placenta, usually without a fetus. This would be seen with ultrasound, twins will cause an elevated hcg.
