High Glucose In Urine Causes
Is it a concern to have a glucose number at 94 and somewhat high glucose in urine? I don't feel bad. Also what does a high red blood cell count mean?
Incomplete info: Random or fasting blood glucose of 94 is not abnormal. If it was fasting, you need to be careful. High glucose in urine is of concern, even with "normal" blood glucose. How high is the blood count? PCOS is one of the risk factors for diabetes. It would be prudent to discuss these items with your doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more
Glucose in urine what does it mean? This is the first time I have ever had this! I also had a big meal before test
Kidney limits: Glucose tends to start spilling into the urine any time the blood sugar content exceeds its ability to reclaim it as it filters the blood. This usually equates to a blood sugar of 170 mg/dl or above, that is common to those with type 1 or 2 diabetes. It can also occur at times when the blood sugar is up for other reasons. Time to see your doc.
Yes: You need more sophisticated testing-a blood test called hb1ac at least. Get checked by a doctor who get your history and further examine you.
Is 100 mg/dl glucose in urine normal in the presence of UTI? Blood glucose level was 82. Anything I should be concerned with?
Glycosuria: No there is nothing to be concerned about.
Trace amounts of glucose in urine. Blood glucose 94 and A1C was like 5. Creatinine clearance levels 0.9. BUN levels 20. GFR 77.5. 45 y/o wf.
Urine test-moderate blood, high protein, renal epith- transit epith, oval fat body, glucose, all out of range. Enbrel (etanercept) the cause? Rcc cancer before.
Daughter had glucose in urine pediatrician ruled out diabetes so what else could this be caused by?
Glucosuria: Error in the testing of the specimen is a possible cause. Other causes include familial glucosuria, severe kidney infection and some uncommon metabolic disorders.
Toddler had glucose in urine but her pediatrician said she does not have diabetes what can cause this?
Usually normal: The diagnosis of diabetes is based on the blood glucose. Urine glucose has filtered through the kidneys and is dependent on a kidney threshold (similar to a dam wall). Some children have a low threshold allowing a normal blood glucose level to filter into the urine resulting in a positive test. Also a rise in glucose can be transient coinciding with stress, which can be an infection.
33 weeks pregnant and glucose in urine today? I had a 2hour diabetes test only 3-4 weeks ago and it was negative for diabetes. Causes?
Repeat test: This may indicate a change in glucose tolerance. Visit your doctor for a re-test
What could cause glucose in urine when not diabetic, not pregnant, no kidney problems, and normal urinalysis since that test?
It can be you: Renal glycosuria can happen whenever the kidney tubules get dinged a bit -- anything from trivial ibuprofen toxicity to deadly Wilson's disease -- producing a "Fanconi" glycosuria. And some people just don't reabsorb glucose well and often / always have glycosuria which is a non-problem. There are also lab errors.
Like normal: Urine with high glucose (caused by high blood sugars from uncontrolled diabetes) will look just like normal urine. It has been reported that sometimes urine with high glucose will actually sweet. Other than that, you need at a minimum a urine dipstick test to detect glucose in the urine.
How high?: Glucose can be reabsorbed by the kidneys until the blood level exceeds about 130 mg/dl. Once the blood glucose exceeds 130 glucose starts "spilling" out in the urine. Blood glucose can therefore be abnormally high, up to about 130 without any evidence of glucose in the urine. Once above that level typically it will show up in the urine as well.
My urine glucose is 1.5 %. I am yet to take a blood test. Does this mean I am diabetic? I am 26 years old. I am having a high fever for the past 2-3 days.
5yr old has high hgb, hct, Mcv, neut & low lymp, creatine, alp on blood test norm glucose on blood but urine glucose high. Keeps having fevers?
Urine glucose?: Positive Urine Glucose is never normal. But you mention normal serum glucose? Keep in touch with the ordering physician and followup on this. Hard to say much about fever as there is so much more to know about it. Duration? Sore throat or other associated symptoms? Rash? Ill appearance? Contacts with illness? We might be able to point you in the right direction with a Prime Visit.
The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood of a human or animal. The body naturally tightly regulates blood glucose levels as a part of metabolic homeostasis. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body's cells, and blood lipids (in the form of fats and oils) are primarily ...Read more
