Is it a concern to have a glucose number at 94 and somewhat high glucose in urine? I don't feel bad. Also what does a high red blood cell count mean?

Is it a concern to have a glucose number at 94 and somewhat high glucose in urine? I don't feel bad. Also what does a high red blood cell count mean?

Incomplete info: Random or fasting blood glucose of 94 is not abnormal. If it was fasting, you need to be careful. High glucose in urine is of concern, even with "normal" blood glucose. How high is the blood count? PCOS is one of the risk factors for diabetes. It would be prudent to discuss these items with your doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

Urine (Definition)

Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more

Need help. Is 250 mg/dl glucose in urine high?

Yes: With the exception of rare genetic syndromes, any glucose in the urine is almost always abnormal and suggestive of diabetes. Get further testing from your doctor.

Can MS cause glucose in urine?

Can MS cause glucose in urine?

Not at all, but: You might have both diabetes and ms, so get this evaluated by your primary doctor, and deal with both problems concurrently.

What does >=1000 glucose in urine mean?

What does >=1000 glucose in urine mean?

Diabetes: This is a very high urine sugar and likely means that you are diabetic and have high blood sugars. Occasionally one can see families in which there is high urine sugar but normal blood sugars, but this is rare. You need to see your doctor for evaluation.

Kidney limits: Glucose tends to start spilling into the urine any time the blood sugar content exceeds its ability to reclaim it as it filters the blood. This usually equates to a blood sugar of 170 mg/dl or above, that is common to those with type 1 or 2 diabetes. It can also occur at times when the blood sugar is up for other reasons. Time to see your doc.

No glucose in urine and a normal random blood glucose, but could I still be diabetic?

No glucose in urine and a normal random blood glucose, but could I still be diabetic?

Yes: You need more sophisticated testing-a blood test called hb1ac at least. Get checked by a doctor who get your history and further examine you.

Fasting: Would recommend a repeat morning urine analysis in 1-2 weeks. I suspect a falsely positive, but in the presence of high suspicion for diabetes, family history, overweight, symptoms, etc follow up would be recommended.

Can diverticulitis cause high glucose in the urine?

Can diverticulitis cause high glucose in the urine?

Not directly: But if infection can cause elevated glucose in blood of diabetics because of stress response. This in turn will cause high glucose in urine. You need to have your blood sugar and glycohemoglobin checked, so go and see your doctor.

Daughter had glucose in urine pediatrician ruled out diabetes so what else could this be caused by?

Daughter had glucose in urine pediatrician ruled out diabetes so what else could this be caused by?

Glucosuria: Error in the testing of the specimen is a possible cause. Other causes include familial glucosuria, severe kidney infection and some uncommon metabolic disorders.

Toddler had glucose in urine but her pediatrician said she does not have diabetes what can cause this?

Toddler had glucose in urine but her pediatrician said she does not have diabetes what can cause this?

Usually normal: The diagnosis of diabetes is based on the blood glucose. Urine glucose has filtered through the kidneys and is dependent on a kidney threshold (similar to a dam wall). Some children have a low threshold allowing a normal blood glucose level to filter into the urine resulting in a positive test. Also a rise in glucose can be transient coinciding with stress, which can be an infection.

What could cause glucose in urine when not diabetic, not pregnant, no kidney problems, and normal urinalysis since that test?

What could cause glucose in urine when not diabetic, not pregnant, no kidney problems, and normal urinalysis since that test?

It can be you: Renal glycosuria can happen whenever the kidney tubules get dinged a bit -- anything from trivial ibuprofen toxicity to deadly Wilson's disease -- producing a "Fanconi" glycosuria. And some people just don't reabsorb glucose well and often / always have glycosuria which is a non-problem. There are also lab errors.

15
How does urine with high glucose look like compare to normal?

Like normal: Urine with high glucose (caused by high blood sugars from uncontrolled diabetes) will look just like normal urine. It has been reported that sometimes urine with high glucose will actually sweet. Other than that, you need at a minimum a urine dipstick test to detect glucose in the urine.

Why could my urine glucose value be so high?

Why could my urine glucose value be so high?

Warning sign: Exactly how much isn't so important, as it will vary with how much water you drink and lose by other routes. Glucose in your urine warns of diabetes, though there are other causes, both serious and harmless.

What to do if I have high albumin in urine, normal glucose what does it mean?

What to do if I have high albumin in urine, normal glucose what does it mean?

Get a workup: In the absence of diabetes or any other evidence of renal failure / nephrotic syndrome, you probably have orthostatic proteinuria.

Why do I have high glucose on my blood test, but not in my urine test?

How high?: Glucose can be reabsorbed by the kidneys until the blood level exceeds about 130 mg/dl. Once the blood glucose exceeds 130 glucose starts "spilling" out in the urine. Blood glucose can therefore be abnormally high, up to about 130 without any evidence of glucose in the urine. Once above that level typically it will show up in the urine as well.

Urine glucose?: Positive Urine Glucose is never normal. But you mention normal serum glucose? Keep in touch with the ordering physician and followup on this. Hard to say much about fever as there is so much more to know about it. Duration? Sore throat or other associated symptoms? Rash? Ill appearance? Contacts with illness? Blood Sugar (Definition)

The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood of a human or animal. The body naturally tightly regulates blood glucose levels as a part of metabolic homeostasis. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body's cells, and blood lipids (in the form of fats and oils) are primarily ...Read more
