High Dose Mirtazapine
Depends: on your treatment goals. Typically doses can go higher (200 mg +) if treating depression. But there is a wide dosage range that is therapeutic, in my experience, since every person is different. If you feel better on 100 mg. and have no side effects, that's the best dose for you. Don't worry about a "standard" dose. Take care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Depends on the: Person. If you are not used to taking ativan (lorazepam), (lorazepam) then you can become overly sedated with just a total of 2-3 mgs. If you regularly take Ativan (lorazepam) and have built up a tolerance, then you could take much more. When prescribing, most physicians follow the idea of "start low and go slow" when dealing with medications like ativan (lorazepam). ...Read more

Monitor your weight: There is no way to predict what exact dose will have a particular side, eg, weight gain, with Risperidal (risperidone). You may have no weight gain. Best to keep track of your weight. If you've gained 5+ lb and can't explain why, discuss with prescribing doctor. Dose may be adjusted or alternative med considered. Eating healthy and regular exercise are also important to control weight. I hope this helps. ...Read more
Not necessarily: As a starting dose that is definetely a high dose, but if you have been on it for while it is a moderate dose. Tolerance may occur which means that after a while the same dose is no longer effective. Doses more than 40-60 mg are unlikely to have increased benefit and something else should be considered. Talk to prescribing coctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is 10mg Lexapro (escitalopram) and 30mg Remeron a high dose for G A D.One of your doctors stated yes.
No 'Gold' standard: These drugs in combo, often for 'off-lable' symptoms (GAD) are a matter of trial-and-error and each Dr's clinical experience. If patients give accurate feedback, some become good at using them. Others may just try different doses and combos. Discuss it together and ask all you want. I've been on 75mg of mirtazapine for 7 months , primarily for anxiety and insomnia. Is this high dose normal? How would you reccommend cutting back?
Almost, but why?: The dosage for mirtazepine may include and , rarely, exceed 90 mg. Dosage must reflect how your body metabolizes the drug. The important question is" how are you feeling?" if you have had very good or excellent relief of anxiety, and if you have learned anxiety management skills or remedied the situation for which you started the medication, then slow reduction is possible over months. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I am on 15 mg mirtazapine but still w episodic severe anxiety. What is best dose of mirtaz for anxiety?
Depends: Mirtazapine is a serotonin-based antidepressant that is only fda-approved for major depression. That means that there is no specific dosing for anxiety. However, given its serotonin effects it does provide some anxiety-lowering effects too. However, the exact dose can only be determined by trial and error. Know that the antidepressant effects really start at 30 mg. So your dose is not high. ...Read more
