Just a curious student. How long on average would it take for microbe contaminated enema to be absorbed into the blood from the colon? Minutes? More?

Are periodic saline enemas good for your colon since it's cleansing? Can they (enemas) damage your body or are they largely benign/safe to use?

Could I have colon hydrotherapy as a substitute for the "standard" prep for a colonoscopy? Normally use enemas.
If it clears you out: The main purpose of colon prep for colonsocopy is to clean out the stool so that the camera can see the linings of your colon. The 'standard prep" works well because it has been done a gazillion times.
