Also, since obesity can affect your BP, keeping your weight in control with a lower carbohydrate diet and avoidance of simple sugars is helpful as well, although not as directly as the other interventions. Elavil (amitriptyline): Techically, elavil (amitriptyline) can have anticholinergic effects which can theoretically raise blood pressure. However, the dose is so small, that I doubt this is the cause of the elevated reading. Recheck the BP manually after 5 min resting in a seated position. Discuss with your doctor discontinuing the elavil (amitriptyline). ...Read more

Yes: Baby aspirin, 85mg, is definitely safe in pregnancy. Hyponatremia, without any other disease processes going on, would be very rare in someone your age. This other doctor told you, you had low sodium but didn't tell you why? Unless you have renal disease or a host of other conditions one wouldn't expect in a 22 yr old, i think you're likely ok. Yes: Simple answer is, yes. That's not a value that's off the charts high ... But you definitely want to have it evaluated soon. There was a landmark study published awhile back that showed that men with normal BP (<120/80) lived roughly 7.2 years longer than men with high blood pressure.
