Not usually: Hernias of the abdominal wall should be surgically repaired. Serious complication can occur - including the hernia growing larger and trapping bowel within it. Possibly: the weight gain may have thinned the skin and allowed it to become irritated more easily as well as put more pressure on it from the hernia. Need to see a surgeon now for evaluation and to prevent infection or involvement of the hernia itself. ...Read more

Not directly: The most common type of hernia (in the groin) would not cause intestinal bleeding unless the intestine were strangled in the hernia -- and this would cause many more problems than simple bleeding. Hernia: The abdominal hernia is most likely NOT related to the Vaginal bleeding. 7 weeks of bleeding is concerning, so see your GYN first to get that evaluated and diagnosed, then treated. Unrelated: Your periods occur because of changes in hormones within your system. While a lot of women have a period every month around the same time, there is variation from cycle to cycle. Ie – a period may come on a few days earlier or later and maybe heavier or lighter depending on the endometrium lining. It may come continuously or with intermittent spotting.
