Lump in my throat. Constantly drinking water. What could this be. How can I treat it. I have acide reflux, hiatal hernia, stomach ulcer, anxiety.

Not dangerous: The sensation of something stuck in the throat is common, but poorly understood. It is often referred to as a "globus" sensation. Probably not related to your hiatal hernia or gerd. It is not dangerous at all. Anxiety could have something to do with it, but that can be difficult to control as well. See your pcp for more advice, but don't worry, it won't hurt you. ...Read more

44 fem anxty/panic hiatal hernia center chest pain in betw breast reflux burping EKG chest X-ray labs all good. 40mg Prilosec worried about cause?

The hiatal hernia: This type of hernia causes the reflux. If you're happy with your symptom control on the prilosec, it's ok to continue, but that drug causes oseoporosis, pneumonia, and gastric polyps. As young as you are, I recommend you consider having the hiatal hernia repaired by a surgeon, which ends your reflux for good. Also, if you have "asthma", this may be the reflux and an operation can cure that too. ...Read more

Many structures have to go thru the diaphragm in order to enter into the abdominal cavity, including the esophagus, the aorta, and the vena cava. The hiatus is the hole in the diaphragm thru which the esophagus passes. This can enlarge, allowing the stomach to "yo-yo" up into the chest: this is called a hiatal hernia. ...Read more
