Hi doc I am 44 years old in the month of oct I had got my period twice and in nov I did not get can u suggest any tablets so that I can get my periods?

Possibly.: In the mid 40's, the ovaries are starting to run out of eggs so menstrual cycles can be quite irregular. There are two over the counter supplements that may help. Progest cream has a small amount of progesterone. Doing this for 14 days could possibly bring on a period. The other is vitex which can stimulate ovulation. In an abundance of caution, you should do a pregnancy test before using. ...Read more

Hello.: Hello. I am assuming by fixed you mean you had a tubal ligation. Well, it is past time to get seen. You may be perimenopausal which can change the period. However, you are risk of becoming anemic due to heavy and frequent bleeding. Please see a gynecologist soon to find out the cause of these symptoms. ...Read more

See a fertility doc: It's not normal to have gone so many years without a period. Normally, we will want you to have a period every 3 months. You need a full evaluation.

As long as everything is ok other than your hormones to cycle properly, a fertility specialist should be able to help you get pregnant. But you will need to be patient. ...Read more

I've been getting my period for 3 or 4 years and this is the first time it's ever been this heavy. Should I see a doctor?

Maybe: How heavy is heavy? You certainly don't want to stay home and bleed to death. On the other hand, some periods are heavier than others. If you are worried, the best course of action would be to see a doctor. Best wishes! ...Read more

Perimenopause: It appears that you may be peri menopausal. A low dose birth control pill such as lo lo estrin would possibly be a good choice for you. The average age of menopause is 51. Therefore some people will be 54 but some will be 44 when it occurs. ...Read more

Other perspectives: Agree with Dr. Hegab re: seeing another Dr. For a 2nd opinion. There are likely other tests to be done. You might be hypothyroid despite "normal" tests. Other causes could include stress, nutrient deficiencies, chronic infections, environmental toxins. Consider consulting integrative doc, an acupuncturist and/or a homeopath to get different perspectives. See

Go for it: Only you can decide if it's time to have another child. Now that you have stopped breast-feeding your menstrual cycles will return to your normal. It may take a few months for them to return to normal. Once they return you will know that you are consistently ovulating and that pregnancy is possible. ...Read more

Hi, im 17 years old and yesterday I started cramping but I had no period my doctor said I have hormone imbalence but I don't know what's wrong.

Probably Normal: At 17 y/o menstrual periods can be irreg at times & a missed period with cramping completely nl. Of course if you are sexually active you need a preg test. If this is a pattern & becomes recurrent, especially if you are overweight and/or have blood sugar problems than you might want this evaluated by and endocrinologist or Gyn. But you are likely to have a nl period next month. Don't Worry! ...Read more

Don't fret: Resumption of menses/withdrawal bleeding after being on OCPs (oral contraceptive pills), especially progesterone based ones like the mini-pill can be erratic. Remember that this particular OCP works primarily by suppressing ovulation like most OCPs, but, at the local level, thins out the uterine lining. This means it may take a while to get it built up again and get your uterus back on track. ...Read more

Hey doctor I have enlArged labias im 21 years old and my period cycle is also disturbed please tell me about my problem?

A Gynecologist visit: More than likely it is a normal variation as the labia size is somewhat variable in every woman.
If your menses are scanty and not occurring on monthly cycles, then you should get further check up, preferably from a Gynecologist who can check your Hormone levels and make sure that you do not have some imbalance which could cause such derangements (if the hormone levels are not in proper balance. ...Read more

I am 20 years old and I am trowing up everything I eat I only trow up at night and I am on my period can I be pregnat doctor

I am 20 years old and I am trowing up everything I eat I only trow up at night and I am on my period can I be pregnat doctor

If: If you are on your period, then odds are you are not pregnant. However, if you are still concerned or if your period is abnormally light, you can take a home pregnancy test as long as it has been 5- 6 weeks since your last normal period. You can also go see your doctor and they can test you. A home pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken a week or more after the missed period. A blood test can tell if you are pregnant as soon as 7 days after conception and a doctor's urine pregnancy test can tell if you are pregnant around when you next period should come.

Anti-vomiting medications should not be given unless you are specifically told to do so by your doctor. The best course of action is to give your stomach a break for an hour or two and then restart hydration with clear fluids - an oral rehydration fluid such as pedialyte is ideal if you also have diarrhea. Sometimes you have to feed the fluid to yourself a tablespoon once a minute because a big gulp can trigger vomiting. If you do well with this after a couple hours, you can move on to bland foods.
Reasons to call your doctor would be:

-vomiting for more than 24 hours
-diarrhea for more than 7 days
-bright green or bloody vomit
-bloody or black diarrhea
-new fever
-dehydration (no urination in 8 hours, dry mouth, no tears, dry or doughy skin). ...Read more

I've been off Depo-Provera 1 1/2 years and still no period and doctors say its a waiting thing but how long does it take. And im only 18?

Usually 1-1.5 years: Your question is interesting, I actually went to the literature regarding Depo and it shows that it 68% in 1 year and 93% by 1.5 years. Like your doctor said "it a waiting thing". You might be the 7% that take longer. Hopefully in the next 6 months your periods should return. If not speak with your doctor and or OB/GYN for guidance and possible treatment. ...Read more
