No direct role: HHV6 (human herpesvirus 6), it turns out, is a common virus that infects up to 75% of infants by age 1. It can cause high fever followed by rash. DRESS (Drug Reaction with Eosinophila and Systemic Symptoms) also results in fever & rash, but, as the name states, is caused by a severe reaction to a medication or drug. It is theorized HHV6 may look like a drug reaction and HHV6 is under diagnosed. ...Read more
Reactivation?: Almost all human herpesvirus type 6 (HHV6) infections over age two are due to reactivation of distant past childhood infection. Most humans are infected with HHV6 in early childhood -- usually without symptoms, sometimes with a skin rash illness called roseola. If the infected young man is not seriously ill, probably no worries. Otherwise discuss with the doctor who diagnosed it. ...Read more
Positive EBV but inactive. Positive HHV6 active, cocksackie virus active. I know nothing about these but I'm so very tired. Any insight helps.?
Online testing?: Sounds like you have been tested through an online service or something similar. It is normal to be infected with these viruses or have antibody to them, and despite claims by those who do the tests, there is no reliable way to tell by blood test whether they are "active". None of them is a likely explanation of feeling tired. See a doctor for professional evaluation and advice. Good luck! ...Read more
Can htlv have the same symptoms as hiv? Cannot get a diagnoses. Terrible symptoms for 4 months following oral sex. Also confirmed hhv6 infection.
HTLV is unlikely: As in my previous reply, HTLV is not known to be transmitted by oral sex. You don't say your symptoms, but apparently you think they are similar to ARS (acute HIV infection). If so, probably your symptoms are not due to any infection at all from that exposure. If related to that event, I would think about an anxiety reaction, not an infection. Almost certainly not HTLV. ...Read more
What causes cold urticaria and solar urticaria in the same patient? Could it be an hhv6 infection/encephalitis she had at 18 months?
Urticaria: It's not known why these two conditions occur. They may be inherited or caused by a virus. In the case of solar urticaria, there is also activation of some antigen in the skin by ultraviolet light which then causes an ige reaction. Ige is an antibody responsible for immediate hypersensitivity reactions of which urticaria is one. The mechanisms and causes of these are not entirely worked out yet. ...Read more
Can late-stage Lyme, EBV, HHV6, or lead toxicity cause a malar rash? Blood test - for lupus. Skin biopsy - for rosacea but + for general inflammation.
Probiotics: You need to fix the cause - food allergy or infection, or stress? Start a high dose multistrain probiotic 2 x daily to rebuild normal gut flora. Avoid antibiotics that destroy healthy gut bacteria. If things don't improve with this go to a4m.Com and use directory function to find a local functional medicine doctor to help you evaluate the cause and get you back to normal health! ...Read more

Yes: Everybody has something. There are no perfect adults, and no perfect children. Sooner or later, everybody gets sick. Luckily, our bodies have miraculous self-healing powers, and we generally get well. For the unlucky ones among us... well, those don't make it. The lesson here is to do kind and meaningful things each day, while we are still in good health. ...Read more
