Yes it's possible : Any thyroid nodule over 4 cm needs to be removed surgically to make sure not cancerous per ata guidelines. I would still get a fna first before going to surgery but needs to be removed. More info on my website on thyroid nodules at www.Cvsurgicalgroup.Com. ...Read more

Another possibility is a branchial cleft cyst which is also a congenital problem. Your docs may want to do a CT guided fine needle biopsy. Hang in there. I think you will be fine. ...Read more

Solid heterogeneous thyroid nodule 15mm to 3cm in 2 years and normal TSH levels. If it is cancer, could it have spread over the 2 years? Fna tomorrow.

Unlikely: Thyroid nodules are a fairly common finding. In the setting of a normal tsh, an fna is the appropriate next step. The good news is the very large majority are benign. An fna is the only way to know for sure though. Best of luck! ...Read more

What is a innocuous and isoechoic thyroid nodule. Also what is a heterogenous nodule with tiny cystic spaces, it measures 0.7cm?

Probably benign: Depends on the appearance on ultrasound and also on lab and clinical parameters. Usually don't biopsy this size lesion without some other indication that there's a problem, but it should definitely be followed-up over time with repeat exams. ...Read more

What is the treatment for a well defined heterogenous psychoechoic slightly solid thyroid nodule?

What is the treatment for a well defined heterogenous psychoechoic slightly solid thyroid nodule?

Monitor: Depends on the size of the nodule, you might need a biopsy to make sure it is benign. At the very least, you need to follow the nodule with another ultrasound in a year to make sure it is not growing or significantly changing. The only curative treatment is surgery which is the decision between you and your physician. ...Read more
