Herpes Tested Negative At 7 Weeks
Negative 4 gen HIV including PCR and 8 STDs at 29 days. Later at 5 months same test, negative. Negative HIV antibody at 7 months. All conclusive?
Yes, conclusive: The 4th gen HIV tests are conclusive any time 4 weeks or more after the last exposure, so your first test was conclusive for HIV; the other HIV tests were superfluous. Depending on which STDs were tested, some of those were conclusive at 4 weeks, and the others probably conclusive at 5 months. You can stop testing for HIV and any STDs based on an exposure 7 months ago. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

PCR test negative at 9 weeks post-risk exposure. Anti-body test in clinic lab non-reactive at 7 months. Is it conclusive and can I stop worrying?
Hiv1/2 eia negative at 8 & 23 weeks. Will test again at 48 weeks. Will a negative test be conclusive?
HIV testing: Yes. You are not HIV positive. In the future there is a test that is 100% accurate at 14 days. This is the HIV RNA or pcr test. You do not have hiv. Testing regularly is a good habit to get into when you are sexually active. And, please do not forget there are eleven other stds to avoid. ...Read more
Retest: I think that today's tests are conclusive at 7 weeks. However, you're also young, you did something risky, and you're going to be anxious unless you retest at 12 weeks. Do it -- not for the science, but for your own peace of mind. And whatever happened, I hope you've got a memory you can both learn from and also cherish -- you gave and received affection. Be safe from now on. Cheers. ...Read more
Hiv rna test result undetected after unprotected blowjob at day17. Test range 40 to 10mil. Is it conclusive?regular hiv test neg at 15 days. Hiv?
No risk: HIV is rarely transmitted by oral sex. If you were the receiver of the BJ, you can be sure you weren't infected: there are few if any proved cases of oral to genital HIV transmission. Most experts would have recommended against an RNA test in this situation, but the negative result is additional strong evidence you weren't infected. The "regular" test is only slightly reassuring, 4-6 wk minimum. ...Read more
Took a HIV PCR at 7 weeks , HIV RNA at 17 weeks and HIV antibody at 13 and 16 weeks . All negative . Is it conclusive ?
At 47 days post potential exposure I unexpectedly tested HSV-2 positive with LabCorp ELISA index of 1.16. 15 days later, retest was negative.
False pos HSV2 test: This is a common problem with the HSV2 antibody test. Although technically positive with an index value over 1.1, yours was barely positive at 1.16. The test is not reliably positive unless way higher, 3.5 or more. Your subsequent negative result shows the first was a false positive. For sure you don't have it. If you don't have symptoms to suggest new genital herpes, you don't need another test. ...Read more
Wife is pregnant has + RPR 1:1, negative confirmatory by ClIA, negative. 2 weeks later RPR negative and eia negative (6.5 weeks after last sex). All clear on syphilis?
Yes she is: Hi. I read a few of your consults with other doctors on Health Tap. Many of them have advised that you followup with your own doctor to get additional testing. The world is not perfect. Occasionally labs produce errors. The first test may be a false positive. If the test is repeated more than once with negative results then assume you are negative for Syphilis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

A friend had hiv test at 6 months last exposure negative, now he had a pos for hiv-2 at 7 months. He also did a pcr at 4 months.can it be false positive?
Probably false pos: HIV-2 is very rare outslide the area of west Africa where it originated (Cameroon), although I don't know about Albania for sure. The PCR should have picked up HIV-2 as well as HIV-1. So your freind's HIV-2 test probably is false positive. He should see an infectious diseases or HIV expert to sort it out. ...Read more
HIV PCR negative at 9 weeks since last risk exposure & anti-body testing non-reactive at 7 months. Is it conclusive? Can I stop worrying now?
You can stop worrying: but don't stop being concerned. You need to stop doing whatever it was that put you at risk in the first place.. Intercourse with new or multiple partners, especially if you're not using a condom, anal sex and intravenous drug use (especially with needle sharing) are all high risk activities. I hope this helps. HIV: Antibody testing is accurate if you have formed antibodies by that time. There are some people who have a delay in antibody response and therefore testing at 3 months is recommended and some doctors will repeat this at 6 months. If you want immediate reassurance you can get a PCR for HIV RNA. Good luck. ...Read more
