Have wrong info. Herpes 1 IgG positive. Herpes II IgG indeterminate. How is herpes 1 transmitted via flu or cold sores stress?

Herpes simplex: Herpes simplex is transmitted by direct contact with a lesion or the body fluid of an infected individual.Transmission may also occur through skin-to-skin or mucous membrane contact during periods of asymptomatic shedding. Barrier protection methods are the most reliable method of preventing transmission of herpes, but they merely reduce rather than eliminate risk. ...Read more

Old or recent herpes infection? Herpes 6 ab panel blood results: herpes virus 6 igm	neg:<1:10<1:10(my value) herpes virus 6 IgG pos<.99 mine	13.56

I don't get it: Herpes 6 is the roseola virus which infects nearly all of us since early childhood. There is speculation about some possible indirect relationship to multiple sclerosis. It is not an std! it is not the same as herpes simplex which is responsible for genital herpes or cold sores (hsv 2, hsv1). Why test for hsv6?. Acyclovir will yield no benefit for this unless you have a (rare) acute hh6 infe. ...Read more

Whats the meaning of Herpes Type 1 IgG- Serum Positive, Herpes Type 2 IgG - Serum Negative and Herpes 1+2 IgM Ab Serum Negative? Thats my results

HSV1, no HSV2: The results mean you are carrying herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1), usually from oral infection in childhood, so you probably have had it for years. But if you have had symptoms that suggest genital herpes, it could be a genital infection. You do not have HSV2, the usual cause of genital herpes. I takes up to 12 weeks for positive results, so these results do not exclude recent infection. ...Read more

Some viral shedding: Although the chance of transmission is highest during an active outbreak, there is still a very small chance of transmitting/spreading the infection without outbreak as some viral shedding occurs all the time.
