How will it change things for you knowing you have the virus ( once infected it stay for life), you/him could have gotten it years ago as it is intermittant? Possibly: Asympomatic (no or few/mild symptoms) carriers do exist but since transmission is most likely when an infected person's open sores contact the delicate mucus membrane tissue of another person.
