Had EBV test came back EBV nuc IgG ser qi eia positive and EBV vac IgG eia postive. Ebv capsid IgM eia negative. I'm so tired what do this mean?

Makes perfect sense: Igm antibodies rise only during the actual, acute infection. They then fade away and are replaced by the various igg antibodies, which are the ones that provide lifetime protection against the same strain of the virus. So your numbers are consistent with the fact you had mono years ago. There is no igm, and positive igg levels. So you are immune and do not currently have mono. ...Read more

My friend test std, results . chlamydia trachomatis positive, abnormal andnon reactive negative. Hsv 2 igG. 2.69. HSV 1 igG. 37.90. the me?

What's the question?: You don't ask a question -- I'm not sure what information you're looking for. These HSV test results are positive for both HSV1 and HSV2. However, when the HSV1 IgG antibody test is very strongly positive and the HSV2 result is much lower, as in your friend, the HSV2 result sometimes is false. Additional testing, preferably with a Western blot test, can sort it out. ...Read more

? Active infection: It's impossible for me to answer with certainty since i don't know the normal ranges your lab uses. If early ag & vca igm are elevated above normal this indicates active ebv infection.I don't know if it is acute or chronic without knowing your history. If chronic i see that as a sign of poor immune function.Immune-boosting herbs/supplements & IV vit c drips may help, but find why immunity is poor. ...Read more

Old or recent herpes infection? Herpes 6 ab panel blood results: herpes virus 6 igm	neg:<1:10<1:10(my value) herpes virus 6 IgG pos<.99 mine	13.56

I don't get it: Herpes 6 is the roseola virus which infects nearly all of us since early childhood. There is speculation about some possible indirect relationship to multiple sclerosis. It is not an std! it is not the same as herpes simplex which is responsible for genital herpes or cold sores (hsv 2, hsv1). Why test for hsv6?. Acyclovir will yield no benefit for this unless you have a (rare) acute hh6 infe. ...Read more

Hiv ab,1/2, eia with relx result repeatedly reactive. HIV 1/2ab differentiation w/refl hiv1 antibody negative hiv2 antibody negative. pos or neg hiv?

It depends: In a situation like this you have one positive test and one negative test. The lab should run a tie-breaker test (HIV RNA) to give you a real answer. Also, the first test may be an older test 2nd or 3rd generation) instead of the latest 4th generation) test. It also depends on if you have flu-Like symptoms. Seek help from a specialist in HIV who can help you understand. ...Read more

Pcr blood test for hsv1 & hsv2 both negative 7 weeks post exposure. Is this a reliable test vs igg antibody testing?

HSV testing: Both are good. A PCR blood test looks for circulating viral DNA. The IgG look for the development of an antibody against the virus. If these are not present 7 weeks after exposure then the most likely conclusion is that you did not acquire it. ...Read more

H. pylori infection: .. which causes gastritis with symptoms of early satiety, abdominal pain, heartburn. If you are symptomatic, then you will need the treatment.
