Every couple months i get a bump on my lip, it is very tender and looks like herpes bump.it goes away in 2 weeks, im 13.i want to know what it is.

Have an elder ask: Sadly, people your age are too young to directly ask for help here. Just try to find an adult - or someone over 16 - to ask on your behalf. It does seem like your bump may be herpes or a similar thing. See a Dr when it shows next time for an exam. If not herpes, it might be better since herpes is not curable - only treatable. Be well! ...Read more

I get a small pimple on my lip line almost every month for the past 5 months when i get my cycle. It has white puss when i pop it. Herpes? Another?

Possibly.: Herpes usually appears as blisters, not a white pimple. But the way to know for sure would be to see a doctor and get it cultured soon after it appears. It could also just be hormonal acne that is affecting the same blocked oil gland each month. ...Read more

Could be: Genital lesions are usually due to HSV 2, but HSV 1 can cause genital lesions. It would be prudent to get the actual lesions tested as the itching may not be due HSV at all. Having HSV 1 and genital itching does not mean the two are related. ...Read more

I don't test positive for herpes but I have always gotten cold sores since i was little, why? Maybe once every other, sometimes not for several years.

Herpes simplex: Do not know what you mean when you say you do not test positive for herpes. Antibody testing? Viral culture of the cold sores? Staining of scrapings of the base of the sores? Difficult to know what these are without an exam, but they are more likely to be random recurrences of herpes as you describe them. ...Read more

Should u change toothbrushes after every herpes oral outbreak?

Should u change toothbrushes after every herpes oral outbreak?

Not that necessary: Cold sores/herpes are quite common and can be contagious. Changing your tooth brush every 3 months or so is recommended for dental care, but not that necessary for cold sore prevention (assuming u r not sharing toothbrush). The virus that is causing your recurrent sores comes from your own body/nerve, not toothbrush. There are medicines to suppress them if you have frequent recurrences. Good luck. ...Read more
