Approximately how much time does take to feel the HIV and herpes symptoms? About how much time does a person will or should start feeling them?..

HIV: I will address one of your two questions. Hopefully another doctor will address the second one. A primary HIV infection is likely to occur within 1 to 2 months after infection. This can last several weeks. Symptoms can include loose bowel movements, sore throat, sores in the mouth, swollen neck lymph nodes, fever, headache, muscle & joint aches, rash, genital sores & night sweats. ...Read more

Recieved oral sex.Tested for syph,Gonn, and Chla. All neg. dr. said HIV is not a risk, and no testing for herpes without symptoms.Should i worry or no?

Receptive Oral: Your doctor is absolutely correct. There is no HIV risk. ZERO. Herpes is tested by blood. So, that one part of the story does not make much sense. But, 75% of Americans have oral herpes already and cannot get it again. So, receptive oral sex is often very unlikely to be a risk for herpes simplex. ...Read more

If the symptoms of genital herpes and HIV are the same, is there a way to tell the difference? Besides testing...

If the symptoms of genital herpes and HIV are the same, is there a way to tell the difference? Besides testing...

Misinformation: I'm really sorry that somebody told you this total untruth. Genital herpes is groups of painful blisters. HIV is a systemic disease that in the acute phase is often the worst 'flu you've ever had. Further, if you have any concern that you have contracted HIV, you owe it to yourself and all those who love you in any way to get yourself tested. Herpes labs are less reliable. Do the right thing. ...Read more

I'm wondering if I am already infected with genital herpes and i contract HIV what are the symptoms?

Usually nothing: Hiv usually doesn't have any symptoms. Some people report a flu like illness (fevers, chills, body aches) when we think they first got infected but most don't. There are no symptoms until much later in the disease. If you are concerned, you should get tested. ...Read more

HIV negative: Without knowing exactly what tests were run it is difficult to say for certain, but the overwhelming chance is that you are HIV negative. The lesson is obvious. Only protected sex and only with individuals you "know" well. You can never be sure of honesty when it comes to sex, money, politics and life. Appreciate your concern but think you can relax. Be well. ...Read more

Stop: Having unprotected sex. Also, you need to not have sex or other risky activity for at least 6 weeks. This is the time frame for converting to an HIV positive state. Wait the six weeks, get the test, and if it is negative, consider yourself lucky, and stop having unprotected sex. ...Read more
